It's Quiet - a new dawn

I'd love Isco but can't help but feel he'll end up with a new contract at Madrid !

They'll shift bodies though. This year they need to buy big and let's remember they've a history of selling very good players. Ozil and DiMaria(I know, I know) immediately come to mind. I think we've a shout on this one.

Regardless who the players are we definitely need someone who can play Yaya's position plus another who can play in the Silva/KdB's role.

Since Gundogan got injured Silva and KdB have to play every match.

I think Mooy will take Delph's spot or at least be given a chance in preseason. What we do with Garcia remains to be seen.

I think we'll sign Fabinho, Heinrichs and a left back to replace Sagna, Zabaleta, Clichy and Fernando.

We'll definitely be in for a centre back to replace Kompany and maybe 2 if Otamendi leaves.

We will definitely have more out than in though this summer as a few players will be covering a number of positions.

I think Dahoud might be too small for that role. Weigl as much as I'd love him don't see Dortmund selling.

Fabinho I think will get signed and yeah perfect Fernando replacement.

Personally I'd keep Fernando as he's a more than good enough squad player. I think Fabinho will replace Yaya. I'd also like Barkley as a rational option with Silva and KDB. Isco is the dream but AS are strongly reporting he's going to renew.

How is this in any way relevant?

Because the posters above are comparing City's English core to that of the class of 92. Basically encouraging city to sign Barkley when he is nowhere good enough for us.

We have enough good English players with Stones and Sterling, we don't need to buy more british players for the sake of it.

Buying abroad and on foreign players is our only option for me. Bring through our own homegrown players like Sancho and Foden and leave players like Barkley to teams such as Spurs and Liverpool. Not Manchester City class.

Apologies if I'm wrong but I didn't see anyone bringing up "the class of 92".

Fair enough if you don't rate him - I'd be disappointed if we went into next season with him as a starter - but a comparison with a youth team from 25 years ago just seemed a bit out of the blue.

So if Pep signs him it'll be for the sake of it and in the full knowledge he isn't good enough to actually play for us?

Also you realise identical arguments were made to not sign Raz and Stones too.

Read the previous comments in reference to the class of 92. Silly comparison if you ask me.

We paid substantial amounts for Sterling and Stones and neither of these players are finished articles. We can go out in the foreign market and buy better players for better value for money, its a no brainer.

I do rate Stones and Sterling by the way and I did want both at City just to be clear.

How realistic is that some of our young players will get a squad place next season? The following 3 springs to my mind as the most likely candidates
P Maffeo - replace for example Clichy
A Garcia - replace Delph
P Roberts - replace Navas

A Zinchenko, E Unal, M Moreno are also out there. I am not sure how well they are doing, except Unal seems to be scoring regularly in Holland.

The grass is always greener. But if we sign Ross im willing to bet in a year he will be as important to our side as Raz or Stones. Pep won't buy maybe's this summer.
