Surely Messi can say that he is buying his contract out, if there is a ruling against him ?
Well this is what I thought, however Sky have never brought this into consideration.

Seen a few items saying Messi approached us, I’m wondering now if that’s a deliberate ploy in an attempt to leave us out of the equation legally ?
just a thought anyway .

Because Messi is adamant he's leaving for nowt and Barca are now on a war footing with City as a result.
There is presently no negotiation between the two clubs as a result.
I will interested to see what comes out of the Barca press tomorrow.
Pep wants him on a plane next week!!!!
This could get very ugly in the next 48 hours.
The contact in Abu Dhabi says he is ours.
Absolutely zero reason to doubt him either.
Bloody hell. I'm gonna stop posting tonight or I won't get any sleep.
Sounds like more encouraging movement on Koulibaly too.

So at most, he would have to pay Barca for one season & we could agree to cover it ( preferably when he retires & visits Abu Dhabi).
If Messi stated his intention to buy himself out of his contract ( in the event it is ruled that his get out free clause is invalid) then the dispute must surely be between him & Barca ?
We would be signing a free agent & negotiating only with Messi.
