It's exactly what was said at the beginning of the window. Kane or nobody. How is following the exact plan that we've had the whole team, devised by the manager and his mates, a huge fuck up?
Because the plan failed?

Because the plan failed?
How did it fail?

The plan was get Kane if we can or we're happy with what we've got. City are not in the market for a striker. We're in the market for Harry Kane. If Kane wasn't available then there would be no striker incoming. That's what was said right from the beginning.

because surely there has to be more than one option? Kane is obviously the preferred option by a distance but when we have lost sergio and pep doesnt seem to count on Jesus as a central striker then we need a 9?

I'm starting to be seriously concerned that we might sign Ronaldo.

I've spent 2 years in lockdown trying to avoid a virus and then one turns up at our door. I genuinely would rather have nobody than him.

He should go to United. He's the physical embodiment of their supreme arrogance. Can you imagine him scoring and the South Stand belting out Viva Ronaldo? It makes me physically ill just thinking about.

I'm not bitter. Ronaldo is an amazing player who would score 40 goals a year in our team and of course Kidd, Law, Tevez, etc have done it on both sides. So there's a precedent. But I just despise the bloke so badly that I want his legs to fall off. I can't help it.
Have you wanted Messi at City over the years? A bloke who strung us along multiple times just to rinse more out of Barça in wages, and made us miss out of Kane last Summer because he pretended to want to come to us.

Messi is a bigger knobhead than CRonaldo.

If that was what was said it’s called planning
I like the fact we aren’t panicking and get anyone in
There are only certain players that fit the system and improve the team and that list is small
I trust the manager and the recruitment team
They will have a plan and it will more than likely work

I'm ok with what we have to be honest. Whether we sign anyone else or not now, city will be challenging.

True, an additional striker could boost our chances of more success, but we have to lose someone to make it happen.

Personally my feeling is that we are in a chain and once one player moves the rest will follow. Maybe Saul, which triggers Bernie then Kane. But if not then that's ok, we're still good enough in terms of quality and attitude to be successful.

Don't forget Kev isn't fully back yet, Foden either. Delap is injured and we have a lot more about us than we have seen so far in just 2 games.

Relax. Whatever happens city will be playing great football, scoring great goals and winning plenty of games this season :)

But we don't need a 9. Pep doesn't really play a 9. I'm sure he'd like an option but it's not a massive hole in our squad in the same way that not having a left halfback isn't a massive hole because we don't play halfbacks. We had Sergio Aguero last season and played him about 8 times and none of them as a traditional 9.

Maybe not people bang on about Haaland and Mbappe talented enough but it doesn’t look like they want to come

There doesn't have to be more than one option.

If they feel it's Kane or nothing, then its Kane or nothing. Pep did the same when he joined Bayern and wanted Thiago, it was Thiago or nobody.

If they want a profile of striker and there's only one 'available' for lots of reasons, if they can't get him then why go for a different profile? Scattergun approaches never work. If they have a list of 3 for a position and get 3rd choice, at least its planned and there's logic to it. They don't have a list of 3 so its Kane or nobody, it seems. Which is fair enough even if we think we need a 9 (which i agree, we do).
