Can’t go through a full season with just Stones, Dias, Ake and an Academy player with no first team experience
 
Its always going to be hard to keep 3 world class centre backs happy especially one in their mid twenties. Maybe an older experienced head would be more suitable for a bit part role?
 
lads, we don’t have to shift anyone out. If Carson leaves + Sergio the two spots are available. 3rd gk can then be an academy player.

I guess I am responding because I make a point of squad spaces needing made for Graelish to arrive, so I feel I may be one of what you refer to. It is not an excuse for not wanting Graelish, it is just a point that for him to arrive, something needs to happen and one needs to leave. And often I say it in response to people claiming he can just show up without affecting the squad because the foreign quota is misunderstood to have a few spare slots.

The club will obviously reshuffle the squad holistically to het what they want, over the whole transfer window.

My point, which isn’t exactly difficult to comprehend, when discussing Mendy, is that yes of course we don't want to sit him in the stands, but equally even if we push him out on a subsidised loan we are going to be paying the majority of his wages, so the net result is more or less the same. We can’t afford passengers in our champs league squad and Mendy is the epitome of a passenger.

We possibly could, either way it's difficult to keep 4 frontline centre backs happy unless there are long term injuries. If Laporte was to leave I think we need to look for either an older replacement or a younger prospect, or somebody from the academy. I'm not sure it would be another high profile centre back, certainly not one as good as Laporte.

If the two goals come in the last ten minutes after both sides have chances to win then that’s not easy. 2-0 my honest prediction. Not like I’m going for 7-0.

I don’t know how they will figure it out, but it isn’t acceptable for next season’s squad to be weaker in options than this one. That comes with a cost, look at our rivals. Maybe that’s where Kamara will be of use

If Laporte was to leave then somebody like Kamara that can playe centre back or dfefensive midfield may be a good compromise.

Thats a good point actually, the Kamara rumours suddenly make a lot more sense. Is it right that he’s equally adept at CDM? That would be solving two issues in one for us at a decent price if so.
