Something ive always wondered TH, do clubs actually “bid” for players or is that just computer game/media talk?
Would imagine any transaction at this size would be a continual back and forth understanding the boundaries and if parties agree it gets done.
Or is everyone strong on not selling until they see the numbers on a page
So they say 'Grealish won't be going anywhere this summer' then in the next paragraph say 'as it stands, Grealish will be at Villa Park'. Its all bollocks from these sources and majority i suspect know no more than the average poster on here.View attachment 18344
More on this from the article.
Southampton players eh?
I still haven't got over Mick Channon and Graham Baker
Jude Bellingham, get him now and he'll do it from season after next when Dinho leaves. The league title is a race, but our midfield really struggled for pace and physicality against Chelsea, Dortmund and for long periods against PSG.
I think there's a really good argument for us getting someone like Pep had at Barca in Seydou Keita, or Vidal at Bayern who is more box-to-box, strong and fast and capable of getting on top of some of the more physical midfields coming about in the game.
Building a squad is about options, and with Fernandinho's physicality nowhere near what it was 3 years ago, our midfield is all a bit one paced and small and not very strong and the option of someone who could run around and disrupt and win the ball back and get into physical battles would round out the squad.
That covid has fucked you up more than you realise....
Are city really willing to part with that kind of cash for Kane? I'm not so sure. You have not factored in Daniel Levy - if you thnk we getting Kane for less than 150 million?
Jesus - 40 million? Ake - 30 million? - 80m cash?
I wont be far off.
Daniel Levy isn't some kind of genius. And we're not run by fools. You have not factored in Daniel Levy - if you thnk we getting Kane for less than 150 million?
Jesus - 40 million? Ake - 30 million? - 80m cash?
I wont be far off.
Glad @worsleyweb decided on a career that involves building apartments and not football teams.
We'd be fucking bankrupt and playing Doncaster Rovers within 5 years.
Surely we’d just utilise Tommy Doyle over signing JWP, they’re pretty similar players stylistically yet Tommy is already here and JWP would cost upwards of 50M. Would be a nonsensical signing for me.
I think there's more chance of that happening than there is Kane & GrealishBe typical of City if we signed Ings & JWP instead of Kane & Grealish lol
Are JWP’s stats impressive out of interest? He’s never stood out much to me bar a few nice free kicks.I did have that thought too. But I suppose the argument could be made that Delap and Håland are pretty similar stylistically, so why bother signing Håland? Because he's proven he can do it, would probably be the answer to that
