The Sterling contract situation looks a really tough one to solve. His motivation for a new deal would surely be based on more favorable terms, and he is rumored to be on 300k already..? So if we don't pay more, he simply runs the contract down. I can't see City not giving him game time if he refuses to extend..

I might be wrong. But Sterling's motivation to me is winning trophies. That's why he rejected a massive deal at Liverpool and his agent said he wouldn't stay there for £1m a week.

He wants to win and there's no better club to win at.

For me. He'll be here for ten years minimum.

Yes, Sane is what I would call rapid.

Foden is the one who continually surprises me.

He doesn't look quick but there are very few players in world football who are as quick when they are also running with the ball at close quarters.
Big big difference between being quick and being quick with the ball at your feet. Foden's touch is unreal so he doesn't have to look continually down at the ball which is what slows Sterling down.

Kev aint bad either when he's running with the ball...

This is an important factor, Michael Owen was quick, Walker is quick, there are many examples of fast players but very very few who are quick with the ball under control, and my god is Phil quick. He also turns or changes direction quicker (with ball under control) than I think I have seen before - which is why he is such a threat, along side many other qualities granted.

You can’t have a ‘must buy’ without agreeing the fee up front.
Otherwise it’s nothing more than an agreement to agree (often termed a memorandum of understanding) which is nothing more than a commitment between the parties that the matter will be discussed at a later date to see if a workable agreement can then be reached.
Which, given that an agreement couldn’t be reached initially, is basically a triumph of hope over experience that has no contractual weight whatsoever and binds neither party to anything at all.

we have done deals like this before and of course before the initial loan both clubs agree a fee like I posted!

I can see why Pep would want Kane for his last two years as he is proven at premier league level. Gives him the best chance to get us more trophies. However, when Pep leaves we will have a striker who’s nearly 30. We could of course hope Delap comes through. Otherwise we will be looking again shortly after. For the long term we should be ripping up trees for Haaland, that’s planning ahead. Just think Kane is a short term fix for Peps last two years, but I totally get others will have different opinions.

He can but it's not the same as having that searing pace out wide.
Sterling is fast, but only on paper. He is very short and weak, which means he can't run past defenders as effectively as Walker because he just bounces off them, not to mention he often drives the ball into the opposition player. He is actually a very slow thinking player.
