If Guardiola is shifting towards a smaller nucleus of players, but with higher quality, then presumably there will need to be more game time for academy prospects and less emphasis on winning the domestic cups.

He might well be a KFA, but the reports Kane wanted this sorted before the Euros were from credible sources and the tournament starts in 10 days so something's got to happen soon.

Cancelo has had a few approaches from Italy and Spain.

I think he's going to have a great Euros with Ukraine, he plays really well for them in CM and they've got a squad that could go surprisingly far.
Might be a point in the summer where he gets an attractive choice of playing CM somewhere pretty decent, or playing LB here, and that might tempt him.
I think he loves the club though, would rather compete for a spot here than walk into a lesser side.

Sterling and City believe him playing with a World class number nine next season will go a long way to solving a few concerns.

Nothing will happen on this one or grealish until after the euros. They are both already with England and will be with us until at least July (assuming we get out our group). Southgate has already said pretty much no transfers will happen whilst the tournament is going on and rightly so

I can see why they are interested but I wouldn’t even swap zinchenko for Rice, would leave us with real problems at left back.

He does, but I still think he needs proper competition. Mendy has fitness and focus issues and Cancelo has a right foot which means he isn't properly challenged for the position. Unfortunately I just don't see us shifting Mendy.
