This is actually spot on. We don't get free passes from other clubs. If say a player's value is 50M , for city the price will be 80-90M or no deal. We should reciprocate the same to some extent

Well if the Milan deal is legit then they are putting up the cash. He's not going for free. He's also not leaving for whatever mystical fee you put on his head.

Well we are beyond "being a charity", we started giveaways years ago.

In a transfer window where we want to spend £250m we need the cash on the books.
