Ivan Toney

They’ll be a threat with him. Exactly what is missing from their team.
Not a title threat until they start benching Enzo or Caicedo. They just don't work well together. Toney is not a big enough upgrade on Jackson to be a difference imo.

I'd be playing Caicedo and Lavia holding with Palmer in the 10/RCM. Nkunku playing off Toney with Neto and one of the other 100 wingers on the other side. Embarrassment of riches at Chelsea right now. Not sure how they'll get away with this.

How the fuck can chelsea keep doing this and being ok with premier league psr requirements? We so much as fart and it’s 116

They're sailing on the very edge, but the plan is to clear out all the older players on high salaries and the "pure profit" Academy products, and to replace them with young players on lower salaries, and longer amortised contracts.

Last Summer, they sold or let go of, Havertz, Mount, Koulibaly, Kovacic, Pulisic, Mendy, Loftus-Cheek, Ampadu, Hudson-Odoi, Kante, Aubameyang, Azpilicueta, Babayoko etc., and loaned Ziyech, Kepa, Lukaku. That's a hell of a boost to their finances.

It's not quite the same, but similar to when City had that big spending splurge after Pep's first season. We didn't make huge amounts in fees, but got around a dozen ageing, big earners off the books, and spent the money on half that many younger players. Net spend looked poor, but overall it wasn't a huge change in the overall finances.

And our strategy at the time has seemed to work out reasonably well.

We spent nothing like Chelsea have over the last 2 years, not even close. Plus they aren’t allowed to use 8 year amortisation any more, 5 max. Clear cheating. To say “it’s not quite the same” as we did is a complete distortion of the truth. Their transfer fees, wages, squad size are completely off the scale, I’m not sure if you are being serious? In addition they’ve only got a small ground and no champions league football last year or this. Commercially not possible to be legal

If Toney goes to Chelsea great, they won’t be at the level of us and arsenal but might make it tougher for top 4/6 for the rags. Not seen this being reported outside of this forum though?
