Most deals don’t work in such a way that clubs make speculative bids. There are many conversations BEFORE the bids go in. City and Villa will already know the price that this deal happens at. But now it’s just a little show for the Villa fans. They’ll reject 2 bids to be seen to be desperately trying to keep him. Then City bid the price that has already been privately agreed and he joins us.
If there is a release clause then surely we just pay it. If there isn't, then he stays at Villa because Villa would not have to sell him. So it will be down to the player and we'll know really soon. It could be complete nonsense but I think VIlla and the player would have rubbished it by now if there wasn't interest from City.

If things have got this far then we must have somewhere for Bernardo to go to? It was rumoured that city would allow someone to pay the fee over an extra couple of years to get the fee they wanted as it makes no difference in how it’s accounted?
