Jack Grealish

These fees bandied out are just the media trying to sell papers, most clubs are broke and I can’t see any of them dropping 100M. There are going to be clubs out there desperate to sell too and I expect the prices to come down very quickly this September.

Clubs like Villa need to be realistic, if the next young Jack Grealish is considering a move to say either Villa or Southampton to progress their career a consideration maybe, if the player is good enough in two years time will he be allowed to fulfil his potential by moving to a top club for realistic money. Southampton certainly would, maybe not Villa.

Two very good players in Kane and Grealish could end their careers as club legends with zero trophies for all their brilliance.

The answer would be to sign shorter contracts or have realistic release clauses but the lure of "jam today" usually means contracts are 4 or 5 years in this country with no release clause allowing the likes of Levy at the Spuds to effectively control their destiny with unrealistic valuations.

We lost a shit load of dosh (probably 30m in the end) when Sane was injured in the Community Shield, however, I think it was a done deal he was off to Bayern for a fair fee, this wouldn't happen at some other clubs.

That's him, he's managed 6 goals and 12 assists in 22 PL games while sitting on his arse.

Foden for comparison has 6 goals and 5 assists in 23 PL games albeit in a lot less total minutes (7 whole games worth).
Imagine what Grealish could achieve if Pep set him a target to reduce the time he spends on his arse by say 50%?

Not always apparent on here so thought I'd cover myself ;)

Supposedly got a get out clause if a CL club comes calling although whether it's got an actual figure attached is another matter.
I think he'd be a belting signing personally, but at the right price.
