I know a lot of folks here want to cling onto some kind of rivalry between our clubs, as indicative of the ''likes'' here. United fans I know from the 80's do not care. There is no rivalry. It's a fiber glass rivalry, it's allowed to pilfer and foment on match days, but for the rest of the year Manchester has become a hub of cosmopolitan globalism. Anyone that experienced any kind of rivalry are refugees in different counties now. When I hear our fans talk about ''we''. We are not part of our clubs. That was proven during the pandemic when both of our clubs had rocketed revenues and net gains. It doesn't matter anymore. Of course I appreciate the novelty of us vs them. It doesn't work like that anymore. Football has become pro-wrestling. I hold no grudge against my neighbor. Red or Sky Blue. I'll probably sign off with this post. When we're being told to obey by the state, and to watch our teles with our sky subscriptions, I can't help but feel like our ''rivalry'' is being manipulated to distract us from the real problems.
"Neighbor" ffs

Firm bid in, now only depends on Jack.

Put yourself in his shoes for a minute. A big club, unquestionably now one of Europe's elite (even if they don't like it) puts in an English record bid for you. This means that they really — but really — want you. Culturally speaking, you don't have to learn to like new food, learn a new language, learn new social mores, put up with a climate that's perhaps too hot for you. (Madrid, for one, gets absolutely savage in the summer).
OK, you've got to live in Manchester (or rather leafy Cheshire). But in any case you lived in Birmingham. It's not exactly like giving up Tuscany to go and live in Doncaster.
You have the opportunity to work at the heart of a bloody good team, containing probably the best midfielder in world football at present.
You have the opportunity to work with the most brilliant coach of these last twenty years.

Brum as he is, why would he not say yes? He'll be able to pop down to Brum every w/e and see family and friends, if he wants. He'd have to be nuts.

This is done.

Just a question. Not aggressive, just curious.
