"Villa turning down Man City would not only be good for Villa but also good for football, the big six have had years of domination because they have raped every other club of their top players each season thus denying them opportunity to build a challenging squad, time for change." A Villa fan I came across on twitter....
This quote sums up Villa fans perfectly for me:
"he’s not the hero we all thought he was move on, the club is bigger than any player support the club not the players utv"
They call him a hero until the moment he dares... move to another club. Then they turn on him. They genuinely believe anyone who doesn't want to play for them for their whole career isn't worthy of their respect. Delusional arrogant fuckers.
You won't see any of this from us, not whether it's Agüero, Touré, Kompany, Silva, Bernardo, anyone.
Took it off this thread. So who briefed sky on the bid then Villa or us ?
I believe we live in world of us and them controlled by money and it was like that with the mill owners and coal mines when football was se-up and our clubs formed. I've always hated Man Utd since I was about 7 years old, and now I've grown to hate Liverpool too. Winning and losing is still everything for me. If you've lost that feeling for your club, then I am sorry for you. It happens. People grow old but City is still in my blood and I don't sense any difference in Manchester City's fan base. There's plenty of moaning about the atmosphere and ticket prices but wasn't it always like this?I know a lot of folks here want to cling onto some kind of rivalry between our clubs, as indicative of the ''likes'' here. United fans I know from the 80's do not care. There is no rivalry. It's a fiber glass rivalry, it's allowed to pilfer and foment on match days, but for the rest of the year Manchester has become a hub of cosmopolitan globalism. Anyone that experienced any kind of rivalry are refugees in different counties now. When I hear our fans talk about ''we''. We are not part of our clubs. That was proven during the pandemic when both of our clubs had rocketed revenues and net gains. It doesn't matter anymore. Of course I appreciate the novelty of us vs them. It doesn't work like that anymore. Football has become pro-wrestling. I hold no grudge against my neighbor. Red or Sky Blue. I'll probably sign off with this post. When we're being told to obey by the state, and to watch our teles with our sky subscriptions, I can't help but feel like our ''rivalry'' is being manipulated to distract us from the real problems.
I would say the sale of SWP to Chelsea was almost identical
I don’t remember any city fans acting like this back then
Can't believe we are going to break our record fee for a player we don't really need. Not the most important position we need to fill ?
