Jack Grealish

As you know before Sancho had his holiday in Germany he was nagging for a chance for some gametime at City. I wouldn't like to compare Sancho with Grealish due to age and a variety of things, they're different in a lot of ways. I think Grealish will be a success at City. Do I think he will become an elite player at City? I don't think so.
Luckily nobody gives a flying fuck what you or the rest of your fans think

Absolutely. Are you happy with your manager? Are there protests planned for the new season?
As far as his coaching acumin and talent. He's very much a novice and has choked on more than one occasion. As far as reneging the squad and developing a sense of normalcy on the training ground. He has done better than most. He seems to have a high emotional IQ but has never really developed a playing style or vision fit for a team like United. Do I think he is our long time boss? I don't know. I'm not nostradamus. He has cleared out a lot of shite from our previous failures. As far as protests, all depends on transfers and how we start in August, which shows just how fickle football fans really are. I'm not emotionally invested in football as I used to be. I don't have it in me anymore. I know what the league and it's sponsors want our league to be. I guess all the success growing up blinded me from that fact. Even with City fans I knew growing up, there is nothing there in terms of rivalry anymore.

I championed Foden during the Euros to all my pals, I was his biggest fan because I know how rare it is for a lad like that to be where he is now growing up around Manchester. Says it all really.

If he hadn’t scored that goal in 1999, there’s no way he’d still be in charge.

We’re comfortable with Goater and Dickov being social media personalities.

Nagging for a chance his development and ability didnt deserve.Even now,the best he could have hoped for here would have been a place on the bench.

Grealish is an entirely different player, far more strings to his bow and far better suited to a Pep team.

The position of some Villa fans is genuinely insane. They're essentially asking/expecting Grealish to give his entire career to Villa knowing he probably will not win a single trophy or play a CL game. Sure that's his boyhood club but very few players of that quality would turn their backs on all that glory and be a one club man. I expected them to be upset at his potential departure but it's bordering on obnoxious delusion and to boo the player that got them in the PL, saved them and then stabilised the club on his back is obscene.

Absolutely. Even a part of me looks at Dickov v Gillingham as a fabric of my upbringing. Anyway. Time will tell what happens with our clubs over the next few years. Nice speaking to you tonight

As Le Tissier has been brought up... Were any other top sides in for him other than Chelsea?

My memory is a pretty faded on what his overall ability was that I wonder if he was actually all that. His legacy is basically that he stayed with Southampton his whole career and scored lots and lots of goal of the season contenders.

Instead of doing the usual, City brought in a player who ostensibly can start from the first game and challenge the established order. The situation that required the Fernandinho conversation last winter was probably so alarming that City felt the need to spend a record sum. This transfer was for a position well stocked, even with Bernardo's form.

I know a lot of folks here want to cling onto some kind of rivalry between our clubs, as indicative of the ''likes'' here. United fans I know from the 80's do not care. There is no rivalry. It's a fiber glass rivalry, it's allowed to pilfer and foment on match days, but for the rest of the year Manchester has become a hub of cosmopolitan globalism. Anyone that experienced any kind of rivalry are refugees in different counties now. When I hear our fans talk about ''we''. We are not part of our clubs. That was proven during the pandemic when both of our clubs had rocketed revenues and net gains. It doesn't matter anymore. Of course I appreciate the novelty of us vs them. It doesn't work like that anymore. Football has become pro-wrestling. I hold no grudge against my neighbor. Red or Sky Blue. I'll probably sign off with this post. When we're being told to obey by the state, and to watch our teles with our sky subscriptions, I can't help but feel like our ''rivalry'' is being manipulated to distract us from the real problems.

Nah mate, rag fuckers will always be rag fuckers. I pray you get relegated every year just for shits and giggles.

My memory is that besides the moments of genius (which he consistently produced once or twice each game) he was a pretty slow/lazy player. Doubt the was a motd goal of the month competition during the 90's that didn't contain at least one of his goals though. Not sure if there was interest from other clubs, but he stayed at saints because it was the only prem club within commuting distance of his channel Islands home iirc.

Take a chill pill ;)

What's this bollocks? A deadline or Jack signs a new deal? What absolute horse shit.

Exactly, what a nice round answer that says nothing. The guy should be a politician. "Yes but no but, eventually." I could become a football knowitall with shite like that.

Le Tissier for me was a great match of the day player, in a 10 minute highlight reel he looked good, did moments of sheer brilliance then could go MIA for weeks.

For me the type of player that would not have lasted in todays football, where natural talent alone is not enough, dedication, sacrifice and pure hard work is essential.

I’ve got quite a few united fan mates who all of a sudden don’t love or follow football as much. Nothing to do with their team no longer being the dominate force and competing for the top trophies anymore. Funny that. You seem decent enough. Not your standard gobshite and know your stuff, United have made two good signings and bang you’re on a rival teams forum. That fire is back in your belly. Enjoy it, until about January time when it comes crashing down again.

Different times, if he was about now and had to be dedicated and train hard imagine how good he would have been

Agreed but he is the type of guy who may not have the dedication.
Hard to say, quite a few during that era who with the right management, dedication and training would have been even better than they was. Some may have not made it, some would have been class I imagine
