Jack Grealish

The position of some Villa fans is genuinely insane. They're essentially asking/expecting Grealish to give his entire career to Villa knowing he probably will not win a single trophy or play a CL game. Sure that's his boyhood club but very few players of that quality would turn their backs on all that glory and be a one club man. I expected them to be upset at his potential departure but it's bordering on obnoxious delusion and to boo the player that got them in the PL, saved them and then stabilised the club on his back is obscene.
That's the difference between supporters and fans(fanatics)

This is a money-making operation. You buy world-class players and bring them into the best side in European football, you remain the best side in European football. The CL run earned us £80m in broadcasting and prize money so Grealish fee will be paid back in one season assuming City are successful.

The Grealish fee is more than I expected because it looked obvious that there was a release fee and I expected that to have been set at a lower level but imo Grealish is in the de Bruyne bracket and I don't mind paying top money for the best players.

If you can afford to do it, then you should do it. If you do a Liverpool, and count the money in the bank, your team will get beaten and you will end up spending the money anyway to get back.

I know a lot of folks here want to cling onto some kind of rivalry between our clubs, as indicative of the ''likes'' here. United fans I know from the 80's do not care. There is no rivalry. It's a fiber glass rivalry, it's allowed to pilfer and foment on match days, but for the rest of the year Manchester has become a hub of cosmopolitan globalism. Anyone that experienced any kind of rivalry are refugees in different counties now. When I hear our fans talk about ''we''. We are not part of our clubs. That was proven during the pandemic when both of our clubs had rocketed revenues and net gains. It doesn't matter anymore. Of course I appreciate the novelty of us vs them. It doesn't work like that anymore. Football has become pro-wrestling. I hold no grudge against my neighbor. Red or Sky Blue. I'll probably sign off with this post. When we're being told to obey by the state, and to watch our teles with our sky subscriptions, I can't help but feel like our ''rivalry'' is being manipulated to distract us from the real problems.
"pilfer"??
Maybe you mean fester.

I am surprised that if there was a release clause in there, that Utd did not try and bid, or Chelsea. Both those teams could have bid. He must have let it be known that he only wanted CIty. You don't stick a release clause in your contract unless you are planning an exit.

Messi still hasn't re-signed, has he…

No way he comes here now anyway as apparently he has let pep down twice including last season when allegedly we nearly had Kane in the bag and then Leo phoned pep saying he wanted to come so city changed to go all out for him and then he did a Kaka!
