Jack Grealish

Reading that Villa forum and they all seem to think the only way he’d join City is because of money or his agent lining his own pockets. Or because he’s a Villa fan.

Ignoring a few important things I can think of:
  • John McGinn or KDB?
  • Dean Smith or Pep?
  • Mid table or challenging for the league?
  • Watching CL on TV or playing in it every season?
  • The odd cup run if he’s lucky or consistently challenging?
  • Villa players or City players as teammates?

I get that they’re precious over their golden boy but the mentality they have that they’re currently a bigger/similar draw for a player than we are is unbelievable.

didn’t you know Villa are getting CL within the next 2 seasons? Oh and Jack dreams of those CL nights at Villa park possibly winning it with them... No way he’s joining anyone else!!

Fwiw I read on there that they had a 75% chance of CL last season if JG didn’t get injured, make of that what you will. Big dreamers them lot.

Can I ask this again.

Why are so many people taking it for granted Bernardo is leaving.

I keep reading 'now that he is on his way' and 'seems he wants out' etc.

Based on what? From what I have seen, there have been a couple speculative tweets by a couple of complete nobodies. Nothing more, that I know of. Heck, even if he himself had said something, even handed in a transfer request, someone would still need to come in with an acceptable offer for it to happen.

What am I missing.

Who has suggested City wouldn’t be getting “an acceptable offer for it to happen”?

If Bernardo says he wants to leave that has an affect on the price

A little, not much. It helps enable a
move, when a club is refusing to sell. Any time we have bought a player, their saying they want to leave made no impact on the price. With Mahrez, on the timing either.

If it were true, so would Graelish saying he wants to leave too.

Anyway, I'm yet to see any reason to believe Silva wants out.

No idea, not me.

The same 'sources' that claimed he wants to leave put a value on it, but that is entirely besides the point, and focusing on the least significant part of what I said. All i said was for it to happen, we'd need one. Didn't say we wouldn't get one. Given the state of possible suitors, i could make that assumption, although i didn't.

For him to leave we would have to get an acceptable offer. For us to get an acceptable offer he would have to want to leave. I'm not seeing anything that says he does. So many are stating it like it is obvious he does. I'm trying to work out why.

What you’re saying is that you’ve not seen him make a statement in the press that he wants to leave? Because there’s quite obviously been plenty in the press saying he wants to leave via “sources” (which is usually his agent or even the player themselves whilst asking not to be quoted)
