Jack Grealish

I don't know that a fee IS being discussed! :-)

I was just repeating what the poster said.

£100m would be the absolute mimimum, tbf. It would all definitely be spent though, yes.
Thanks. The way I imagined this being done, if it is done, would be through a release clause. And if there is one, I can't see it being set that high. £75m-80m maybe?

Sorry but what bollocks , he cheats to get set pieces , he is opposite trying to find team mates
Respectfully, you have no idea what you're on about. The way Villa play, he is the main out ball for them. He has to carry them up the pitch because the other midfielders aren't nearly as capable. It's called taking responsibility, he wins fouls in that process and helps Villa catch a breather. And he wins them rightfully.

Let’s just hope Grealish doesn’t melt like most of our signings returning to their former club. Most other players, and it seems especially City players used to love sticking it to us when they come back. All of ours usually hide. Worst offender was Nasri playing Arsenal.
And weirdly the best was Darius Vassell who absolutely loved a goal against Villa ;)

Double Bollocks! :-)) It's actually more a case of he gets set upon by all opposition players in the vicinity who can get near him, who constantly commit desperate fouls on him, because they sh** their pants, and can't handle him...true story!

No, it's not...and there's no chance he'd be sold for that price.
That's right. No chance the release clause, if there is one, is under £100 million. If it doesn't exist the price starts at £120 million. He's a top three creator in what is apparently the best league in the world, why would anyone think he would cost under £100m.

That's more down to his movement, his brain works quicker that the players he plays against, I mean as when he's on the ball he's already thinking and looking for team mates and passes, where as the players he's up against are just thinking I've got to stop him.

If you watch the villa games you can almost guarantee he will be kicked in the 1st 5 minutes by the opposition, that's why I think a lot of time he goes down easier than he should but there is always contact, I remember they showed his shins after a game and they looked like someone had been clawing at them.

Jack is that type of player that they are like 2 to 3 steps ahead, a bit like Ronnie o'sullivan on the snooker table he's always 2 to 3 shots ahead of the current shot he's on, over the years you get these type of players, normally not English, that's why I was disappointed Southgate didn't play jack and foden more, as there to very intelligent players that see the bigger picture.

If jack and foden were Spanish etc. They'd have a lot more caps and be 1 of the 1st on the team sheet, we'll in my opinion anyway.

Will jack leave, I honestly don't know if he does good luck to him, but if he does, I feel it has to be to a team managed by Pep as Jack plays his type of football.
Finally a sensible post. You know football sir.

No chance. If the clause exists, which is very doubtful, it wouldn't be anything under £100 million. And if you were prepared to activate it you would have done so already.

David Silva used to get much the same treatment and won us loads of free kicks/advantage play from fouls.

exactly Dave and Kev used get the shit kicked out of them every week and we were all up in arms . Anyone who calls Grealish a cheat doesn’t know football, a cheat dives like salah not get the shit kicked out of him. Grealish is opposite of a cheat , he’s brave on the ball.

I don't think the much-talked about release clause exists and, if it does, there's no way Villa would've accepted one so low, and no way Grealish would've insisted.

I can't stand Villa their fans are mouthy fuckers who think they're special and the way they treated Gareth Barry was an absolute disgrace they've got no class, for me Fabian Delph was karma for Gaz Baz if we sign Grealish the main reason I might like it is to piss mongy Villa fans off.

He's a great diving bastard though who gets away with it I mean (for now till he joins us no doubt) and that's something we've missed since Sun Jihai got us like 3 penalties in a 6 month period, so that could help a lot and the potential for good link up play with him and Phil for club and country could be alright... Other than that I see him as adding squad depth and nothing more if we sacrifice Sterling I won't be impressed, if he signs and proves to be a good squad player then fine, the fee is stupid but I've gone beyond comparing the way football has gone with money.

100 million is the number being branded about a lot, could that be the release clause

If it was as low as £75 to £80m then three or four clubs would be chasing the deal - that would be stupid of Villa as we could have started a bidding war. The reality is his price is so high that only Man City can theoretically afford him. But I seriously doubt they will pay what Villa want.

This isn't true. Grealish is a foul magnet to the highest levels, Hazard style. Silva was never that much of a foul winner by comparison.

And I say this as someone who doesn't have any issues with Grealish winning fouls.

We're not Tottenham we don't bid on players before knowing if they want to come. We will have spent the majority of the time speaking with his agent selling him on the move, agreeing terms etc. Then the bid goes in.

I don't have a clue if there is a release clause or not but I can only imagine there is one as we wouldn't have wasted our time trying to get him otherwise as you lot will have him valued way above what we would want to pay. If the ITK on reddit is correct and this is due to be wrapped up within the week then the only way I can see that happening is if we have already agreed terms and we simply activate the clause. All guess work at the end of the day until whatever happens happens.
