7/10 for me, was a shame his only bad pass lead to a goal...

I think ever pass he made was pretty much successful a part from that bad 1.

Reminds me much of Barry in that sense, just needs to get into position better.

2 things were obvious:

1. he was playing on safe most of the time, something most of youngsters would do in debut for champions

2. he is still not synchronized with a team so he looked lost few times opening himself for the ball but nobody giving it to him :)

Few nice moves and that tackle. All in all, solid beside that mistake that led to their second.

real shame he gave that ball away - his only mistake.

i was impressed, never really seen him play before. he was quick, good with his feet, neat passing and vision, good strength, looked to receive the ball. did a yaya toure type job.

i just hope the mistake won't see him ridiculed by everyone - al a phil jones. but i can sleep safe in the knowledge that, unlike phil jones, he isn't an ugly fuck who should be on live at the apollo

Impressed - most of his passes were safe distances as you'd expect on his debut but he looked as if he could pick a pass when he gets used to/more confident about our style of play. Could be a good buy

He learned from his error as 2 or 3 times after that in the same stuation he made sure he got the pass away quick and hard.
As debuts go that was fine.

Personally after only being with the squad for a couple of days I thought selecting him over de Jong who played well at villa park was a very odd decision.

Our midfield was all over the place at times today. Yaya didn't play well so I can't make out whether Rodwell did well or not. The error that started the passage of play that led to their goal was poor though and needs cutting out. Mancini won't stand for too many of those.

Thought Rod was ok today on his debut, although he was at fault for their second goal.

He seems to have a tad more pace than Nigel and is a unit in the air for defending and attacking set pieces.

Marks out of ten for his performance?

He had an excellent game except for THAT cock up. I hope it doesn't damage his confidence.
