Jack Rodwell

Personally after only being with the squad for a couple of days I thought selecting him over de Jong who played well at villa park was a very odd decision.

Our midfield was all over the place at times today. Yaya didn't play well so I can't make out whether Rodwell did well or not. The error that started the passage of play that led to their goal was poor though and needs cutting out. Mancini won't stand for too many of those.

Thought Rodwell played well but agree De Jong should have been in,daft to change things and he has been playing well

Gotta cut the guy some slack.
Thought he was very composed and showed real class today and didn't look out of place in amongst a team of champions.
Was clearly very upset at his mistake and will have learned loads from today.
Very very promising debut imo.

i may be in minority but was not impressed with rodwell. think mancini put him in there because of the expected weak saints opposition but what an effort by the saints. thank goodness we won

he seems to me to be significantly below a de jong or barry or milner.

really hope he does not play much this year and gets better with reserves and in training and then maybe plays more next year.

I thought he looked very assured for a young lad making his debut after a big move for him. Ok he made a mistake but other than that he didn't do much wrong, think he'll get better and better for us.

95% pass accuracy showed it was unfortunate one of the only passes he misplaced led to a goal, was solid on the ball, didn't make many mistakes otherwise and was a solid debut.
