The kid is 21! he's gone though a growth spurt in recent years and it takes its toll on the body when ur playing in the PL from the age of 18. After reading what the lad has done for his injuries, moving house closer to the training ground, changing his car to a higher more comfortable driving position, doing yoga, staying 1h30m after training for extra work, changing his bed and pillow....do some of you not have any sympathy??? Plus has a player's career ever been ended from bad hamstrings at the age of 21? dodgy ligaments, maybe but are you not excited about his potential in the next 5 years after his displays in the last couple of games? Id had signed him even if i knew these injuries would carry on through the next 2 seasons because he will eventually be a top top player, anyone should be able to see that. But then again some small minded people want instant success from a 21 year old and expect them to be conquering the world every week. These people are a waste of blood and organs and dont understand football

Are you seriously suggesting that its ok to spend what we did and accept that the lad cant play due to an injury record that was poor before he even signed?Fuck me,lets get Crocky back as well.
Feel sorry for the lad but we should not be signing players with poor injury records, end of.

Has much as I hate him.. RVP????

Take your point but RVP had an injury free season at Arsenal,Rodwell has played 40 plus games in 3 seasons so not shown he was over the worst.
As I say,RSC was a similar signing,I could cry at the waste of money.

We should be signinng players the management want and Mancini clearly rates Rodwell. He is 21 and has a great future when his problems are sorted and they will be because our medical staff will sort it.

The lad obviously has the desire to play football and he has the talent to do so at the very top level, but he is growing up.....Have none of you silly cunts on here ever grown up?

And yet he has overcome his problems and is now playing regularly for his new team. Get the message?

No he fucking wasnt anything like Rodwell FFS

He was in his late 20s and fucking useless but probably sucked the rag **** Hughes cock and Jack is 21 with a great future.

Huge huge huge difference

I feel for Rodwell, as he looked promising in his last two games and you could see how gutted he was when he went off. I hope, as some have suggested, that it's related to his body developing, in the same way Gerrard suffered in the early part of his career.

My issue, of course, isn't with Rodwell; he seems a likeable lad and I wish him all the best. My problem is more to do with our scouting system. I've read a number of articles in the broadsheets, where Marwood or Rigg (previously) boasted about how thorough we were when looking at players. They proudly mentioned 60 page dossiers, and how "no stone was left unturned", when it came to analysing potential targets.

I'm no scout, or indeed physician, but based on my limited knowledge any report I prepared on Rodwell would've been prefaced with a sheet of paper with "INJURY PRONE!" written in 60pt, pink Comic Sans just so that no one missed it.

No difference, large fee for a player with a known history of injuries.

I cant belief people defend it.

Hope Jack has a great future as you say.

You seriously think we weren't aware of his injury history?

Better qualified people than you or I will have assessed his condition. I trust them and the player to sort it out as many other players have before him. He's signed for 4/5 years not 5 months

Under what circumstances have you come to the conclusion that Rodwell is already a waste of money?

Is his career over? can he not overcome these problems? if you refuse to sign a player based on the fact they have had injuries as a youngster, your ruling out the majority of professional players. Plus theyre not really bad injuries. I would never sign a player that had torn his knee ligaments 3 times or snapped is neck in the past, but to not sign a player with huuuuuuge potential for a bargain price because he has pulled his hamstrings a few times during the years he is growing would be idiotic.
