Jadon Sancho

Here's a question for all you blase folks who trot out 'everything's fine' every time a bunch of kids who were amongst the best in the country at their age group, fuck off into obscurity or to Spain or France without ever playing a game, or leave when we wanted to keep them:

IF PHIL FODEN WASN'T A MANCHESTER CITY FAN, HOW CERTAIN ARE YOU, THAT HE WOULD STILL BE AT MANCHESTER CITY, NEXT SEASON ?

If you answer 'very' you are a liar.
Literally the only way we’d see multiple players come through is a transfer ban. That said I think Foden is being brought through well.
Who would you sell to make room for more young players? Sterling? Sane? Stones? Laporte? Not a dig it’s just an outstanding squad.

A bit late, but that has to be in contention for the biggest load of bollocks post this season. Dortmund are not at our level and Bayern are on the wane with an ageing squad. It was a long time ago since both those teams “schooled” us, that post is fucking wank.
If you were a bit early, you might notice I didn't mention anywhere in my post that either team are superior to us. They are however better than any other top-4 epl team and very close to our level imho.
That being said, I wouldn't swap any of our first team for theirs or Chelsea / Liverpool for that matter.

My limited point was if a 19 year old can be close to the first team for a Bayern / Dortmund, the same should apply here at City as well.
Which is the case now with Pep but the message needs go out loud and clear, or we will keep losing top notch youth players.

You don't have to sell anyone. We play 60 games a year which means there's 900 appearances to hand out. Giving half a dozen of those to an academy kid isn't going to make anyone leave, or make us a worse side.

Always the same couple posters, you know who you are.

Quite honestly I couldn’t give 2 fucks about our kids. One or two will make it, many won’t. So what. We generate enough revenue to buy them ready made.

It’s not there to produce players for the first team. It’s not there for reputation. It’s there to make a profit and that it will do in time, if it’s not already.

Couldn’t give a flying fuck what the scum cnuts do with people like Rashford. Couldn’t give a fuck about rep.

We are fucking miles ahead of them on and off the pitch.

I don’t disagree. The issue is though that even with KDB and Gundogan injured Foden is only on the bench. Not a problem for me personally but for others it is. Had Sancho signed his contract he’d be there too. Our squad is so good even Kompany and Otamendi get left out of the 16.

Foden is only 18. That is very young to be playing top level football. How many 18 years olds do, I mean right at the top end of the game!! Too much football to young is also a bad thing. The two big ones I remember were Owen and Rooney. Both pretty much ended up finished in their mid 20s. We need to be careful with him. I understand the desire to see him get more games but it’s a fine line to get it right. I’d say games off the bench at 18 is about right. The odd start here and there. Maybe ten starts next year. To expect more now is a bit fanciful imo

I truly believe Pep's main objective, as well as everyone going up to Sheikh Mansour himself, is for City to win the Champions League, and everything else comes second. Once (if) we win the Champions League, I think then monkey is off of everyone's back and Pep can ease off and integrate more youth.

Rooney played 37 games in the season that he turned 17 and Owen played 44 in the season that he turned 18, and both relied a lot more on their physique (power and pace respectively) than Foden does (he's more technical). Nobody's clamouring for him to play that frequently.

Perhaps we should wait until he's, I don't know... started his first league game before worrying he's playing too much football?
