James McAtee

James won our Young Player of the Season award last night. He’s been a joy to watch, especially in the last 3 months since he fully displaced John Fleck. His ability to beat players so easily and break down a stubborn defence has been invaluable in the close games we’ve been winning over the last few weeks.

Thank for sharing. He was exceptional in our EDS and the loan to you appears to have been really successful for him and for your team. Congratulations. It will be interesting to see what happens next because there are strict rules on loans to other PL clubs.

Being honest I don’t expect he’ll return to us. We’ll likely be starved of possession next season, especially if Iliman NDiaye leaves as is rumoured, and I’m not sure that is the best ‘next step’ for his development. I could see Tommy Doyle coming back to us though and I think he’d be integral to our chances now he’s displaced Oli Norwood.

He’s been a huge part in one of our most successful seasons for a long time though and he and Tommy have no doubt been our best loan signings in recent times alongside Morgan Gibbs-White and Dean Henderson.
 
Again congratulations on your promotion, I hope we play you early in the season in a day time game, the thought of a winter night game driving over Woodhead or the snake pass is not the best away trip. If you decide to keep both James and Tommy Doyle and City are in agreement it is beneficial to both clubs. For you have two players that know your system, are comfortable in their surroundings and probably most important it allows you to use your transfer budget to strengthen other areas of your team. For us it gives two players invaluable playing time in the Premier League and give us a guide into their ability to perform at the top level. All the best for the coming season.

I would like to see him given a 1st team chance. I think he has what it takes to make it with us.
 
I personally think another loan move to a top club in the championship. Need to nurture his confidence and that may not happen coming into the prem, it’s unlikely he’s going to be getting anywhere near the same numbers. If he hits the same form or better then bring him back the next season. Absolutely love him though, proper city player.

Wow , that is indeed some youtube clip..very good ball control..perhaps a a bit left footed but does score with the right too..He needs a chance with the first team.. some players respond to having better players around them..Barca played some 15 year old..I do feel the club should include one breakthrough player in the squad each season..And I do not mean just 10 minute sub appearances as they learn fuck all from that. Really like the look of this guy..Hope he is no makewight in the Jude deal. Potenially a big mistake should that happen.

yes I think he needs a loan with a team who actually plays like us. it is well and good playing second striker/winger at a team like sheffield.

he is an excellent player no doubt but he has no place in our team. for his own shake I hope he secures a move to a team where he is a permanent starter. if you see his clip all of his play either comes from the wing or from the 10 position who the fuck will he replace in our team? KDB? Foden? Mahrez? Alvarez? fact of the matter is unfortunately our team is full in his position.

OK.. With the age of KdB, Mahrez, Gundo likely going, possibly Bernardo too,then Kyle..can you not see a space for a homegrown player coming onboard ?? I get you are not too happy with the potential Jude purchase, but we will certainly be a team in transition for 2-3 years. Would love to see him given a chance. Thank heavens we have Pep at the helm for 2 years as he knows better than anyone on this forum !!!

When the next season starts, de Bruyne will have already turned 32 and by February Mahrez will have turned 33. He’s developed physically and is ready for the next challenge.
