I've changed my mind on this, I used to be offended by his snub but irealky couldn't give a fuck, it's his choice and who are we to judge him? It's not a big deal in the scheme of things.

It's an interesting (perhaps an overly-defensive, if I may say so?) interpretation of events to say that morality was unilaterally applied to the conversation. One shouldn't always immediately confuse sound, if perhaps, unwanted, advice with reprimand.
All that not withstanding, I'm heartened that your definition of what constitutes a quip remains delightfully generous.

I agree.Have only one problem with McLean. He's a dirty bastard and very limited footballer.

Admittedly, it falls considerably shorter of the master that is, Roy Chubby Brown than your own er, quip did but well, there we are.
