James McLean

I did back it up but perhaps incompetence is the wrong word. Instead of politicians doing what they should have done and look for ways to resolve the situation, they were only too happy to rush into a war. Chabal seeks to blame German militarism but all the great powers glorified their military prowess and were desperate for a chance to use their firepower. We fought the Boer War, the Mahdi in The Sudan & the Crimean War. Were any of those necessary?

Who cares, the poppy is about remembering young men and women who gave their life for this country. They don’t give a flying fuck about the politics. They do their job what they are paid to do. It’s about remembering them. Young people who died. Fuck the politicians they don’t get killed. Wear your poppy with pride. The militarydo what the govt tell them to do. The young lads and women deserve our thanks not high brow shite. The poppy is about the people not the politicians.

Pomp and circumstance, he may have hated his cousins, but as kaiser he was duty bound, do you really think people who hate each other in power cannot stay in the same place together for a few hours, our political elite worldwide do it constantly.
He had no need to stand guard over the coffin in Westminster Abbey. That was beyond the expectation.

I'm not trying to defend him- he was the Donald Tump of his day. I am merely suggesting that his view of Britain was exceptionally mixed and that there is no evidence that he, personally, wanted war with GB.

But when it becomes a necessity not an choice then it devalues it's meaning.

Unfortunately for some, if you don't wear one you are classed as disrespectful and unpatriotic.

Back to the original point if McClean doesn't want to wear one then he shouldn't be pillored for it, for being a cropping **** then he should be, on a football forum.

Agree with all of that.

That’s fine. He is still a dirty horrible twat. But equally people saying the poppy is a symbol of the far right need to go and understand that those in the military do as they are told, the politicians are the ones that make the decisions, like that wankoid Blair.

That's true which is why it's so fucking annoying that politicians (and some Fleet Street editors) wish to make political capital out of it.
Who is making political capital out of it? (I may have missed someone doing so hence me I’m asking)

I agree, personally its up to him. I think it's his reason for not wanting to wear a poppy misplaced.

That tackle on walker was proper nawty.
Should have been sent off for that. Doesn’t matter if he didn’t get him, he had every intent of wiping out walker with or without the ball in a completely reckless and dangerous manner. ****.

Peoffrey and prestwich blue seem to not like the poppy because of political conitations, either who would wear one, or the particular rights and wrongs of a war.

Both are bullshit. The money goes to help young men and women who could not give a fuck about politics and are just doing their jobs. That’s it.

Don’t like McLean at all. Not cos he won’t wear a poppy cos he is out to hurt players.
