James Milner

I remember him playing against us - I think it was for Newcastle - when we first moved to COMS and a woman behind me kept screaming "Fuck Off Milner you spotty twat" every time he came down the wing with the ball.

And you felt the need to post that??

I'm still struggling to find a reason why he should ever be out of the starting 11 on match days. Has a great shot on him, works his ass off and can always be relied on to get up and down the pitch for 90 minutes, great in the the tackle, tremendous attitude, never seems to put his head down. I can go on and on about Jimmy, hell of a player. Fantastic today, deserved motm.

It was amusing at the time because he was a teenager with quite bad acne and he posed a threat to us hence the womans screams - and it's amusing now to think that the same spotty twat helped us win the league last year and gives us his all every time he steps out on the pitch in a City shirt.

James has been in this league for ten years now yet he has the best years of his career still ahead of him as he's only twenty-five years old. The guy is just brilliant. He plays like a fan would play, like every single action he does and every blade of grass he covers really matters. He rarely puts a foot wrong. He isn't a dirty player. He never dives. He never moans about the fact he's not always in the starting XI. He never moans about playing out of position (his best position is central midfield). There was a picture of the squad training at Carrington last season in the freezing cold and James was the only player in just t-shirt and shorts (everyone else had snoods, traccy bottoms, wooly hats, jumpers, training zip-up tops etc. on).

Needless to say; I fucking love James Milner. It's good to see a thread about a player that gets more than four or five pages of praise when there is a certain other player who has got about two hundred pages of praise (as well as about the same amount of shit, it must be said) when he literally does fuck all compared to the likes of Milner.

Great post. But the reason Jimmy, Barry, Zaba, Vinnie et al don't have threads with hundreds of pages is because no one argues about their contribution.. But they all usually get their own threads every few weeks...

He has to start ahead of Nasri for me. Even when Yaya gets back...

Gives us better balance, work rate and width.

Put Yaya and Sergio in that team instead of Garcia and Dzeko and its our best 11 by some distance.

Edit: 39 separate threads...

According to Wikipedia - and I know it's not always accurate - Milner is 27.

In praise of Mr James Milner.

He's a brilliant, honest footballer, MOM for me today. Left wing, right wing, dangerous crosses, absolutely blinding finish.
