James Milner

James has been in this league for ten years now yet he has the best years of his career still ahead of him as he's only twenty-five years old. The guy is just brilliant. He plays like a fan would play, like every single action he does and every blade of grass he covers really matters. He rarely puts a foot wrong. He isn't a dirty player. He never dives. He never moans about the fact he's not always in the starting XI. He never moans about playing out of position (his best position is central midfield). There was a picture of the squad training at Carrington last season in the freezing cold and James was the only player in just t-shirt and shorts (everyone else had snoods, traccy bottoms, wooly hats, jumpers, training zip-up tops etc. on).

Needless to say; I fucking love James Milner. It's good to see a thread about a player that gets more than four or five pages of praise when there is a certain other player who has got about two hundred pages of praise (as well as about the same amount of shit, it must be said) when he literally does fuck all compared to the likes of Milner.

According to Wikipedia - and I know it's not always accurate - Milner is 27.

He is, it was his birthday the other day he turned 27!

I feel Silva seems to perform better with Milner in the side, their link play together is excellent.

Yep. Silva/Richards/Milner are a phenomenal linkup. Beautiful mix of power and pace.

Ah the 1-6
What a day

Just what I was thinking, they orchestrated just about everything that day.

MOTM for me ... superb performance. Nasri shouldn't walk back into this team.
Yeah he should. Milner in the centre with Barry, Nasri and Silva playing from wings, drifting inside, with the fullbacks overlapping.

Fantastic player, criminally under-used in the last couple of seasons imo. Like Gareth Barry, he may not be the most gifted in the squad but we seem to function much better as a team when he is in it.

Milner - very good today.

A worker. A fighter. Good player. Glad we have him.

Dzeko was MOTM - deserved, but if Milner was, it would be deserved, too.

Fucking hell, please tell me you are joking?
No, that sentiment has been expressed several times in the Dzeko thread.
