He is a trier but just lacks overall quality.

if we are basing it on the past month then thats not true. he's been arguably our best player

But the chances he had missed in the Hull game for example, proves he just doesn't have that extra bit of quality needed.

You could say the same for dzeko or yaya for missing chances, it doesn't mean they don't have quality. Milner isn't a goal scorer that's not his role.

Felt a bit sorry for Milner tonight, it was a good opportunity to play him more central but even when Yaya was took off Pellers put Nasri there and when they took Nasri off they put Jovetic there. When you consider he was signed by City on his performances for Villa in central midfield he never or rarely gets a chance to play there even as 4th 5th or 6th choice

One of those days you get from Milner, where the heart and endeavour are there, but he just can't get anything right. A strong contender for worst crosser of the match (although Kolarov ran him close), but not helped by having a fullback who seemed unwilling to contribute anything

We could of done with that extra bit of quality tonight. I just rate Milner as a squad player only and not as a regular.

Even though he had one of his poorer games of the season, at least his attitude and effort were there...unlike a number of others.

Agree, but on the crossing it might help if the forwards were brave enough to try and get across the man.
