Sorry but all day I've been seeing vague media reports that Pellegrini has said he's in for two top class players this January, is this the usual silly season bollocks or has he actually said it?
I've not seen any music vids from TH so I'd say no.

You haven't had the PM's then pal?
I'm not well liked on here:(

Germany are still in their winter break.
Apparently he is still getting back pain:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/2014/01/09/4531355/gundogan-still-suffering-back-pain" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/ ... -back-pain</a>
The 23-year-old is edging closer to his comeback, but has stated he will still need time before he is back to his normal physical self
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan fears that it could be a while before he will be fully pain free again as he continues his recovery from a back injury.

The Germany international has not featured for BVB since their Bundesliga opener against Augsburg in August, but recently resumed squad training again.

Nevertheless, Gundogan - who has been told by the club to make a decision over his future sooner rather than later after entering the last 18 months of his contract - has made it clear that his physical problems are not over just yet.

"I'm still having pain," Gundogan was quoted as saying by Bild.

"The things that I've been doing so far are going fine, but there will be moments where I will have to get used to the intense work again.

"I am not top fit just yet and I'm not completely pain free at the moment. I still have pain in my hip, calf and shin.

"My main objective is to get fully healthy again. Once I've achieved that, I want to give my all again."

Dortmund resume Bundesliga action at home against Augsburg on January 25

People do realise Gundogan/Vidal would have to be playing in the vast majority of our games so unless Fernandinho or Yaya are going to be happy spending long spells on the bench they are daft suggestions.

Matic is slightly more realistic.

Thus is our problem summarized. We are not likely to bring in a player of Yaya and Fernandinho's skill level because they would not want to be third choice.

So, realistically, we have to go for a fairly young, reliable, high potential player that will be satisfied with a "coverage" role until one of Yaya or Fernandinho decline.

or you just do what Juve with 4 class midfielders or Bayern with every good player that side of the Rhine do and rotate, if Gundogan went to Real he wouldn't play every week.

I would agree with you if we had the same situation as Real or Bayern (ie, a history of both success and fame that attracts any player because they know even playing for them at any rate is usually a ticket to greener pastures) but we are not quite there yet. We will be eventually, I have every faith in that, but we have to be realistic with our transfer activity given out current stature (which is still an up-and-coming power). We also have four--last year just two--near undroppable midfielders for PL and CL matches in Yaya, Fernandinho, Silva, and Nasri. We can't rotate in most games without likely causing not only discontent but also team form disruption. I am not saying we won't be able to in the future, but I don't think we have the situation for it now.

We can leverage our "amazing project" that is on the verge of becoming a European powerhouse, though, to attract the future stars, which will pay higher dividends, anyway.

Just my take.

Tolmie must be lunching with Cheeky again soon (can you do lunch at Hugo Boss?)
Anyway at least we've signed the new Ibra.

Shouldn't that be the new new Ibra? Guidetti is supposed to be the new Ibra.

If true, they'll have a difficult time financing much of anything else this summer.

Glad it's happening in June and not now. He's a good player, but we don't want them to recover too soon. :)
