The funny thing is City didn't scout him, it was his agent who offered Jason to City and he signed for us after a trial in May 2013 and playing in that hong-Kong tournament

He's only got one season left on his contract. If we farm him out again, we might as well just say goodbye to a very good prospect, possibly the best that's come out of the academy in the last 5 years

The agent has clarified the situation further on Thursday by indicating that the main sticking point is over the opportunities Denayer, the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year, will get to play in the City first-team. He told Het Nieuwsblad: "What [Eliaquim] Mangala and [Martin] Demichelis can do, Jason can do that as well. "We are negotiating a five-year contract deal.
