Jason Denayer

Not sure why you say that. From memory VVD was not the number 1 at Celtic, he only started to outshine Denayer after the pairing was split up and VVD went to Bournemouth.
One good season at Celtic wouldn't of gotten him much of a look in

We would of still moved Denayer on regardless of whether we signed Mangala or not.

Denayer was supposed to come in to the first team in 2015/16 with Mangala going on loan to Valencia as part of the Otamendi deal. The club made a big deal of him getting promoted and made several promises to him. Then Mangala refused at the last minute so the club organised Demichelis to River Plate.

Demichelis gave an interview where he said he and his family had suitcases packed when the deal fell through because Rivers manager Marcelo Gallardo changed his mind after Everton bought Funes-Mori late on.

At that point Denayer was told he had to go out on loan because we couldn’t offload Demichelis or Mangala and he went to Galatasaray.

So Denayer would have played for City if not for some bad luck. The club planned for it, he was told it was happening and when the club broke its promise to him he became very disillusioned with the club management and fairly so.

He went to Galatasaray and had an amazing season with great CL performances, helped them win the Turkish cup and got into the Belgium team, which lead Lyon to want to buy him, but we priced him out of a move all summer long while Lyon put together a few packages and at the last minute sent him to Moyes’ Sunderland with the only other choice being u23 football or second division Girona.

After that he didn’t want anything to do with Manchester City, wasn’t interested in playing for us at all, just wanted to get out. Went back to Gala the next year and got his move to Lyon.

It’s just not true at all that he wasn’t good enough for City, that’s certainly not what Pellegrini and City’s management thought. If they had their way he would have pretty much been our first choice pairing with Otamendi given Kompany’s injury problems but they failed in their attempts to make room in the squad for him and unfortunately it poisoned the well, so it never happened.

He’s had a great career afterwards, captaining one of the biggest and most decorated clubs in Europe, and we’ve gone on to win loads with a great set of defenders. So I’m not entirely sure why this has become a hot topic on the transfer thread because he ain’t coming here.

Pellegrini may of wanted him in his set up but Pep is different matter all together. Denayer might not of taken to be slowly introduced to first team football.

You're right, but at least he would have had a chance to give it a go. Mangala's decision denied him that opportunity.
He wouldn't of been thrown in which would of not suited Denayer. He had a taste of first team football and that was that.

'Have', not 'of'.

I'm impressed that you seem know exactly how City would have managed Denayer's career, and how he would have responded.

You're making things up now. Just leave it at that.
No he wouldn't of hung around waiting for a chance. We already had Stones lined up. Pep wouldn't of used him too many times (Angelino being the recent example). You are being arguementive so I will leave it at that.
