Yep, Man of the Match for me. Won everything.
so he was better than Yaya?

Implicitly, yes. Yaya did well, but I thought he drifted in and out of the game a bit today.

I thought he deserved MOTM today - for me it was his best performance in a city shirt and his performances have definitely improved a little.

Would still like us to sign quality cover for fernandinho and Yaya though.

Well done Javi.

I'd be interested to see their comparitive stats for this game. I thought Garcia was ok, but not MOTM material. Its just how I saw the game. Garcia did what was asked well and we won so I'm happy and dont get me wrong, Im glad he's putting in more assured performances.

Ironic how everyone who rated him had to defend him with statistics. Then when he starts putting in some more dynamic performances in people start demanding stats!

You can really see his confidence building, even with little things like the give-and-go with Negredo followed by the cross on the byline or that effort he had from distance against West Ham. Not saying that these things make him The Answer or a better player, just that he seems a bit more comfortable in himself and is playing in a more proactive manner, which can only be a good thing.

He did his job very capably today, making some good tackles and interceptions, and took a bit more responsibility in possession than he has in the past. A good performance, all in all.

He made a couple of excellent challenges today and won a good few headers. He generally played ok,although his agility and mobility are poor,he doesn't cover the park well and he's often caught flat footed and then doesn't have the attributes to recover.

However,he generally did the job asked of him and that was enough to contribute to the 3 points so credit where due.Fernandinho's abscence was very notable though......

Fantastic performance today. Up there in the MOTM stakes. His covering was exquisite allowing defenders to win tackles higher up the field.

Not actually playing much differently to before in my eyes the one change is he looks to throw himself into tackles more and screen less which seems to make the world of difference in fans' eyes.

Seemed to get an absolutely massive round of applause in the second half for a dominating tackle.

Great to see and hear, well played Javi lad.

Garcia playing allows Zabba and Kolarov to bomb forward, he reads the game well so is there to cover and disrupt without fouling, the role gets no credit from City fans whatsoever. Seems strange Pellegrini disagrees with so many football geniuses on here.
