Javi Garcia (continued)

He is the easiest player to run past in the PL, when a bloke of 26 who hasn't covered much ground during a game gets described as "running in treacle" its a worry, don't tel me MP couldn't say to Milner " sit there, don't try and do anything creative just give the nearest blue shirt the ball when you get it and don't let people run past you"
I've said it before but what can Garcia do that a 35 year old Hamman and Vieira couldn't ? I've never really had an answer.
quite like the fella and i never turn on him at a game he does what he does but what he does is nowhere near the level of midfield player we need

I am consoled with the fact that Javi Garcia has not yet taken a throw-in, thrown it straight to an oppo attacker and in the blink of an eye, it's in the City net for a 3-0 reverse!!

He hasn't put a foot wrong at all the last few games. Like Demi he seems to have learnt his strengths and weaknesses in this league and adapted his play to them. Definitely a keeper. Actually doesn't look a bad buy now eh?

Fair play Javi he's done a job this season, absolutely no more but almost always no less. A guranteed 6 out of ten every game.

Thats why he's worth keeping. There are plenty of games next season where a 6/10 will see us through. And games where a 6/10 would be a performance worth singing about...

If we win the title I still think his performance with MDM at Hull was one of the turning points of the season. The skipper goes off & two of the biggest boo boys show what they are made of.

Was good tonight, just sat and stopped counters from villa, he helps in that regard basically always sits.

Another fine performance. Does a lot of dirty work and his passing is simply and accurate. Now seeing why we bought him in the first place.

When you consider that Zabba and Alek have the most assists by full backs, you should realise that its Javi who allows our full backs that freedom to attack.

He did well this season, but I still can't understand how Pellegrini is choosing him ahead of Fernandinho !

Agree with this, I like the lad but I'd pick fernandinio over him, especially with Jimmy in the side. Pelli must see something in training or a relationship in the mix he starts with. To be fair fernandinio does seem off it somewhat at the minute.

Its tactical. Ferna will charge forward exposing defence. Garcia is disciplined and his role is to stay in behind to cut supply of Villa's counterattack.

Yep, it's strange. But it worked three games in the row so far, and you gotta give it to Pellegrini for having the balls to do something that could always come to hunt him if it would go wrong.

But I guess it's not pure tactic decision, maybe Ferna is bit tired or having some knock. Just before he lost his position he wasn't really on top of his football in some games like we were used from him. He played lot of games and he just came from the league where calendar is much different, it's like changing time zones in the flight, players need some time to adapt on that.

To be fair I think the long season has caught up with Fernandinho hes looked absolutely shot in his past few games

This must be the reason and JG has done well as cover, limited as he is. But Javi certainly seems like an important part of the current team and seems happier, and so less nervous, for that.

It will also go down well with Fernie as he will be reasonably rested for the World Cup.

In summary, excellent tactical and man management from Pellers. Good work!

Another very good performance.

I can't believe how much he has improved.

His defensive positioning is absolutely top class.
