Javi G is a beast of a player. He has a nasty streak in him where he likes to let players know hes there. Maybe its that spanish attitude but some of the tackles he put in for Benfica would have been straight reds over here.
Great header of the ball and id say more in the Makalele mould than just a straight forward sit there, tackle and pass the ball sideways like our Nige. Cant wait to see him play and also cant wait to see the camera man pan in upclose and personal on his missus!

"City has a score to settle in the Champions League and we're going for it"

Javi García is one of the new stars at Manchester City. The Premier League champions paid Benfica €20m to sign the former Real Madrid player, who’ll be at the Bernabeu next Tuesday alongside Agüero, Tévez, Silva and co.

Javi talked to MARCA about his latest adventure, but his club has told him not to talk about the upcoming game against Real Madrid. "It's a very important step forward in my career. I've come to one of the best clubs in Europe, to the English champions, a club that knows no limits and wants to win every trophy. I'm surrounded by some of the best players in the world", he said.

Regarding his coach Roberto Mancini, he says: "We've already spoken and he's given me his backing. He's a very good coach, calm, who knows how to treat his players. I'd describe him as a modern manager. His experience as a player helps him understand the stars at the club and he knows how to deal with a great squad like City's.

With regards to this season's objectives, Javi García explains: "The first is to continue challenging for the Premier League title. However, it's true that City has a score to settle in the Champions League. We're going for it. We're one of the strongest teams in Europe and we want to win everything.

Doesn't it just fill your heart with joy to hear a new signing saying that?

That's a man who knows his football ! Well fucking said.

Think he might start against stoke? I know it isn't the likeliest of debuts but he seems decent in the air (not in a french tony way either) and we know what they're like

I'd think he was nailed on to be starting seeing as he's not been away on international duty.

Hope he does great but from what I see he is not as crisp a passer as NDJ and more likely to get sent off more often. NDJ was about as good a DM as you could get.

Can't wait to see him play though. Him, Rodwell and Barry as a middle 3 - Will that be enough to bridge the yapping hole of Yaya's absence?
