best forget de jong and move on and stop acting like if he were to be at carrington tomorrow he would solve every single one of our problems...

god forbid we allow a player 1 season with NO preseason at all to adapt to the best league in the world.. its as bad as ppl slagging off silva whose a top 20 player in the world

give the man time and he'll come good he obviously wants to be here and win and fight for a place. sample size is too small.. patience

what a load of common sense.

Wishful thinking more like. Garcia won't get quicker! The guy runs like Harold bishop power walks, he isn't athletic enough to improve
barry is even less athletic and even slower than garcia and he is doing a job for us in the prem.

At the moment he looks like a £7m player, each game that passes it goes up. I think he will be a decent player for us next season.

Ad Hominem attacking of players is completely non productive. Garcia adds to a list that includes Dzeko, Sinclair, Silva, Kolarov, Bowyer, Edghill et al.

The majority of players take time to settle at a new club, never mind a new country, management team and system of play. Our duty as fans is to support players at the club and encourage them to improve and become successful; I do not understand why we would want to undermine players who have not settled in as quickly as we would like and give the media, who are seemingly desperate to criticise MCFC, any encouragement that the fans are on their side.

Support ALL our players until they attack the club with words or behaviours.

who gives a fuck how fast Garcia can run? why is that important.?
i don,t expect a cultured, composed, deep- lying central midfield player to be able to out-run linford christie...i,d expect garcia to be able to hold his posistion,be an out-let for his centre back, excell at ball retention, put in a tackle when needed, drop back to cover for a team-mate who has joined the attack, make numerous 5 to 10 yard passes, ensure the shape of the team is maintained throughout the match, use his height to advantage when attacking/defending free kicks and be smart enough to change tactics/shape at short notice, dependent upon the managers instructions....

Garcia was not brought by Roberto to be some form of 1970,s english midfield runner...we are not stoke city, we are manchester city.

I said sometime back that this guy surely can't be as bad as he appears to be and he has started to improve. Had a bit of a shaky start yesterday but then played OK.

For this season, I'd rather have kept De Jong and the money spent on Garcia and Rodwell in the bank or spent on a quality attacking midfielder but we have bought Garcia and Rodwell so we have to hope that they both develop into useful purchases or at least enough to get most of our money back by selling them on.

This all day long

Garcia is utter shite and whoever thinks otherwise needs to take their blue tinted specs off. He got done over by Watford midfield yesterday. Nobody is saying he needs to be as quick as usain bolt, but it would help if he was able to move quicker than Susan Boyle. The guy is 10 yards off the pace and that will never improve as its an atheletic thing. The fella who said he's quicker than Barry (who isn't the quickest himself) is watching a different player to me.

Garcias all round game is not good enough either. His passes take an age to get to his intended target, and are usually bobbling and behind the player anyway. I've seen him back out of many a tackle this season as well. Can't fault his heading from set pieces, other than that nowhere near close to being good enough.

Maybe he isn't utter shite but he is never top 4 quality and therefore a complete waste of money along with Rodwell, Sinclair an the no doubt astronomical wages we are paying Maicon.

Imagine what we could have got for their combined transfer fees and wages.

We only needed 2 players in the summer but both had to be better than what we had.

A central defender and a midfielder. Nastasic looks decent but is nowhere near the finished product and in midfield we have failed to improve.

I fear with yaya gone and nasri suspended we will witness this failure next Sunday.

Our problem this season has been against the better sides. One win against decent sides all season.

He's a decent player who has had a slow start (Stoke away being the exception) but he's getting better with every game. Just because he doesn't go tearing around the midfield flying into tackles like De Jong use to doesn't make him "shite".
