Javi Garcia

Garcia is a defensive midfielder who is very capable of scoring goals off set pieces why is pace even being mentioned, I forgot Busquets, Alonso and De Rossi were speed merchants.

Speed of thought is where you win games look at Walcott yesterday up against Nastasic and Komps. Garcia is getting better all the time, the portugese league is a lot slower than the prem so of course he needs time to settle. Shame not many on here thought this when he first started out and instead was subject to some ridiculous bashing on here.

Barry was cruelly exposed by Ozil in the WC
Barry was playing in a particularly shit and slow England midfield (which of course he was part of). Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, and Milner, with Terry and Upson behind them, I don't think he was the only one exposed there. If you look at the back up players in that team we were in a pretty dire state. (Warnock, Carragher, King, Carrick - pace wasn't part of that squad was it ? oh and Heskey).

Sorry I'd forgotten that :)

Anyway he's great for us.

Oh and him and Garcia were excellent at Arsenal, as were the rest of the team.

MAN CITY’S JAVI GARCIA EMERGES AS REAL MADRID TARGET

Thursday January 17,2013
By Charles Perrin

MANCHESTER CITY’s Javi Garcia has come into view for Real Madrid.
Although Garcia has made 19 appearances for the defending Barclays Premier League champions this season, question marks have been raised about his performances.

Roberto Mancini may not be too willing to let Garcia go, as Yaya Toure is currently on African Cup of Nations duty with the Ivory Coast.

But Real Madrid are looking to freshen up a squad of ageing players.

According to Spanish football site Fichajes, Real are happy to let Michael Essien and Luka Modric go in the summer.

They also suggest that the La Liga giants would be popular with the fans, as his game is similar to that of Xabi Alonso’s.

Garcia has scored two goals in the Premier League this season.

He joined City from Benfica for a fee of £15.8m last summer.

Really? Madrid? If they are willing to let us earn a profit, I wouldn't mind snapping their hands off.

Have I read this wrong or is the article comparing Garcia's style to Alonso's?

Don't believe it for a second, but a part exchange for Modric would be brilliant. Or Alonso and some cash.
