He obviously needed time to settle and adapt to his new role.
He probably wasn't used to receiving the ball as much as he has done while playing for us. Whoever plays in that defensive midfield position in our team will touch the ball more than any other player. You'll probably notice, now, his touch has improved, his distribution has improved and his confidence. Just a case of settling in to a new team.
If you didn't, watch next time we play. He turns with ball much quicker than he has probably been used to doing so in his career. He was exposed at Wigan but the lad's obviously grafted and reaped the rewards. Like I said, anyone in that position needs time to adapt to the way we play. Barry is the master of it.
Milner can do it but isn't as technically good as Barry. He's more of a grafter that will play anywhere, chase etc. Needed for those 'shit' games. Rodwell will be the eventual successor to Gaz Baz and it's the same with him. How often did he touch the ball at Everton? How much will he expected to get the ball, turn, pass it, keep it moving, not lump it etc. They'll both come good given time. Sinclair on the other hand...
