Because Garcia is better than they are in central defence. It's important to be able to play the ball out of defence which is why I think Garcia plays ahead of Micah

Half of you made your mind up he was rubbish last season, and despite all evidence to the contrary you wont change your minds. We had this before with Stephen Ireland, and Micah Richards

I was genuinely laughing at that post, I know very well why Garcia is playing ahead of Lescott

You'd better explain it to Carragher, Souness & Schmeichel then because they think he's shite & a liability & Carragher has just mentioned how people like Garcia & Mascherano pretending to be central defenders is nonsense, as they have no idea about positioning, & no instinct for the job, which is pretty obvious to anyone, or should be.

Ask a few neutral supporters, who don't have Lescott issues, what they think.

The ironic thing is Nastasic is the one who brings the ball out more often than not.

Garcia was saved by Nastasic a few times. He missed an header against a slight Honda. He was ok in second half but atrocious first half.

Marvin, Garcia is not good enough to play for us and nor is he suited for this league or pacey opposition. He should go to Italy, Spain or Portugal to revive his career for his sake and ours.

He plays at CB because we have no DeMichellis or Kompany. Not because he's a wizard who can defend and make play from deep ala De Rossi.

Never trust the English media to analyze anything. Ever. You should have won the past 73 World Cups according to them.

I'm gobsmacked that some people think he played well tonight. What were they watching?

Some people like to be outsiders. Be TOP blues and blindly back players purely for wearing the shirt.

Fact is Garcia would not be likely to start for any team in the top 8. He's too expensive to justify as a squad option. Not good enough to play CDM or CB. On that basis he HAS to go.

-- Wed Oct 23, 2013 7:28 pm --

There's a stark contrast to hype and analysis. Anybody who watches Garcia for us sees him as a weak link and out his depth.

The media back England to win because it sells papers, gets people buying shirts and flags, fills pubs and gets a feel good atmosphere going. England should and could have won Euro 96 ;)

Almost killed the game today several times. Seemed totally unaware of his surroundings, and almost every chance Moscow had, he would have been at fault if the ball went in, or was at fault.

It's beyond me how you can get beat in the air by Honda, but hey, shit happens.

Another ref, would have given the penalty of Musa.

A liability, but that's nothing new.

Take off the Souness view glasses, Nasty and Zabba should've done better for the goal, Garcia snuffed out lots of attacks. Garcia had a good game IMO.

Re: The excellent Javi Garcia ?

He did his best on a awful pitch out of position

He was always going to drop a few ricketts

Comedy Central and they thought they'd give it a go as amateur comedians.

Funny how people see the game differently.

I shat my pants every time a player ran at him, and with good reason as Garcia didn't disappoint.

Did just enough to see us through.

Btw, i've not heard Souness's punditry of our match tonight. Just going on what I personally saw.

25 CL appearances. Quarter finalist. Captain.

"Out of his depth"?
