This belief that he is used to a slow, unphysical, possesion based game is utter nonsense. He came to fame playing for Benfica, who don't remotely play like that. Despite the common belief, Portuguese football is nothing like Spanish football. They play all out attack with vast amounts of runners from midfield. He was at his best playing as the holder, giving Gaitan, Witsel, Salvio, Bruno Cesar and co the licence to fly forwards, along with both fullbacks. The problem he's had so far is that unlike Witsel, Yaya has made no attempt to get back or help out defensively, meaning he's gotten overloaded.

You simply cannot play a midfield 2 if one of them isn't defending, it will make the one player chasing shadows look poor, while the lazy guy is strolling around so far away from the play they avoid the blame. Let him play alongside someone with energy like Fernandinho, Rodwell or Milner, or play him in a midfield 3, then he can be a top player for us, but if we hang him out to dry playing in a two with Yaya then he'll get continue to get exposed

This is spot on. Put Garcia next to Rodwell or Fernandinho and he'll be good, I'm convinced. Reads the game well, fills gaps well, never gets beaten in the air.

Seriously ? Honda beat him to the ball today didn't he? I would like to see Lescott, Boyata or even Richards play in the CB position alongside Nasty.

He normally has 100% aerial duels, which is very impressive.

Honestly Garcia isn't the best defender I admit. But Lescott can't kick a ball is now as slow as Garcia, Boyata has done nothing to suggest he'd be better and Richards is a nightmare positionally, rash and injury prone. He's a decent defensive mid, look how many clean sheets we picked up with him there.

I think Garcia & the team in general were more concerned of twisting an ankle than conceding a goal. I'm not a fan of his at cb for me he's a dm and a dm only but think its harsh to be too critical of any player on that surface.

Some people like to be outsiders. Be TOP blues and blindly back players purely for wearing the shirt.

Fact is Garcia would not be likely to start for any team in the top 8. He's too expensive to justify as a squad option. Not good enough to play CDM or CB. On that basis he HAS to go.

Neither he nor Nastasic are good enough to be playing as 1st choice at this level.

Nastasic should be the 4th choice kid who plays the lesser games to learn the game, not the go to No1 cb. Garcia should be there as an emergency measure and nothing else.

If they don't like Lescott, then sign a fucking replacement. first Mancini, now Pellegrini have done nothing but undermine the bloke & ruin his confidence, but if he & Garcia or Nastasic challenged for the same ball, Lescott would win 95 out of 100 v both of them. He is half of the title winning cb pairing which was the best in the league. Now the most important thing for a cb is passing the fucking ball ??? Do me a favour.

The idea that defending doesn't matter is fucking ridiculous.

If we all hate Lescott then for fuck's sake sign a proper, quality central defender to replace him.

It's you who "hate" players so that it overrides all reason. And it must take something away from your own enjoyment. We won, and it took 11 players to do it.

We won despite Garcia because we have players like Aguero. It's not about hate you can support whilst saying what's in front of your face.

He isn't allowed to make any mistakes without being discarded, but when others fuck up, we are supposed to ignore it & let them do it again, & again, & again ? It's only a mistake when it's Lescott who makes it ?

Or we could stop carrying him and getting away with it because we won't always get away with this awful defending. You must see how poor attackers walk past him and he tries to drag hem own...he did it in the penalty box tonight!
