Lescott won the fucking league as our centre back. He is one of the best defenders in the country. Both managers should have worked with him to give him confidence to lead the team when Vinny is absent, instead of putting him under extra pressure & entrusting the job to a kid & a midfield player.

It is poor management.
16-second mark.

So that's it then ?

Fuck the rest of his career ?

He isn't allowed to make any mistakes without being discarded, but when others fuck up, we are supposed to ignore it & let them do it again, & again, & again ? It's only a mistake when it's Lescott who makes it ?
No. Didn't say that. Personally I think we need to bring 2-3 players for our central defensive positions and also take a long, hard, ruthless look at all four fullbacks.

Neither he nor Nastasic are good enough to be playing as 1st choice at this level.

Nastasic should be the 4th choice kid who plays the lesser games to learn the game, not the go to No1 cb. Garcia should be there as an emergency measure and nothing else.

If they don't like Lescott, then sign a fucking replacement. first Mancini, now Pellegrini have done nothing but undermine the bloke & ruin his confidence, but if he & Garcia or Nastasic challenged for the same ball, Lescott would win 95 out of 100 v both of them. He is half of the title winning cb pairing which was the best in the league. Now the most important thing for a cb is passing the fucking ball ??? Do me a favour.

The idea that defending doesn't matter is fucking ridiculous.

If we all hate Lescott then for fuck's sake sign a proper, quality central defender to replace him.
It's you who "hate" players so that it overrides all reason. And it must take something away from your own enjoyment. We won, and it took 11 players to do it.

We won despite Garcia because we have players like Aguero. It's not about hate you can support whilst saying what's in front of your face.

Suppose Garcia was at fault for the Bayern debacle too?

Mancini blamed Lescott for losing to Ajax too, another big turning point.

Absolutely.

Terrible, management which has ruined the best central defensive partnership in the Premier League.

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

For every poor moment their were 3 good ones. Pellegrini gambled heavily tonight and won.

If we win the next 2 games "despite" Garcia, just like the last 2 then I'll take that.

Or we could stop carrying him and getting away with it because we won't always get away with this awful defending. You must see how poor attackers walk past him and he tries to drag hem own...he did it in the penalty box tonight!

I do. But all the other options have glaring flaws in their game too. Garcia's mistakes are exaggerated, but I'll admit he makes some. He did well as often as he did badly tonight. He did better at the weekend. He's the only player who can replace VK and confidently pass the ball out (played to Yaya for third at the weekend)

My point is I think pound-for-pound he's a better choice than Richards, Lescott, Boyata etc. Still haven't seen much to change my mind.

No.

A combination of Bayern's quality plus shit tactics.

He's slowing down, getting old and is completely unequipped to play possession football.

Garcia barely makes any mistakes (save for being slow) and he's got this whole angry thread.

Similar to what people are saying about Garcia, the attack carried him. Once the opposition sorted out the attack and went at us, we saw what happened.

Fair enough. Stick Nasri there. He's even better at passing the ball.
