I do. But all the other options have glaring flaws in their game too. Garcia's mistakes are exaggerated, but I'll admit he makes some. He did well as often as he did badly tonight. He did better at the weekend. He's the only player who can replace VK and confidently pass the ball out (played to Yaya for third at the weekend)
My point is I think pound-for-pound he's a better choice than Richards, Lescott, Boyata etc. Still haven't seen much to change my mind.

Garcia is still good in the air, strong and reads the game well. Yeah he's slow.
Realistically we need a defender above the level of what we have beyond Kompany and Nasty.
I defend Garcia a lot because I just don't think he's miles worse than the rest of the squad and this need for a whipping boy is just absurd at times. His attitude is almost exactly what we want in a squad player.

Garcia is fantastic in the air & a good tackler. He isn't a centre back & is slow. He was beaten in the air because of judgement not ability. Lescott would have just picked the ball up without even missing a step, it was easy stuff for a cb. If Garcia had time, he may learn it. He hasn't got time.
Zabba & Nastasic were dreadful too & the whole defence is becoming a joke.

Fact is Garcia would not be likely to start for any team in the top 8. He's too expensive to justify as a squad option. Not good enough to play CDM or CB. On that basis he HAS to go.
Neither he nor Nastasic are good enough to be playing as 1st choice at this level.
Nastasic should be the 4th choice kid who plays the lesser games to learn the game, not the go to No1 cb. Garcia should be there as an emergency measure and nothing else.
If they don't like Lescott, then sign a fucking replacement. first Mancini, now Pellegrini have done nothing but undermine the bloke & ruin his confidence, but if he & Garcia or Nastasic challenged for the same ball, Lescott would win 95 out of 100 v both of them. He is half of the title winning cb pairing which was the best in the league. Now the most important thing for a cb is passing the fucking ball ??? Do me a favour.
