Jerome Boateng

It's funny how we can all watch a player and have completely differing opinoins of them

I always liked Boateng. Never settled in England, and to be honest not even sure he wanted to come in the first place. Clearly he threw a strop as he was not played at centre half as he liked and I genuinely think over the coming years he could be one we look back on and say "shame we didn't keep him."

I am not saying by any stretch of the imagination he is as good as Maldini - he isn't - however, he is certainly a defender who has that 'elegance' about his game in my opinion. I think he reads the game very well, in the same way Vinnie does, and his timing is very good and getting better.

Still, as I say, we all see different things and for me I see bags more potential in Boateng.
 
Fucking dick, fuming the way he pulled out of tackles that were in his favour for us.

I would rather have Savic the scapegoat than that soft arse
 
He never really settled, that was the whole issue I think. Nothing to do with being a fraud as he's clearly a good player. Injuries didn't help either and as for pulling out of tackles, De Jong and Barry have done it several times and cost us goals, that doesn't make them poor players either. I also heard a rumour his wife gave birth not long after he moved to City so it's understandable that he just wanted to go back to be with his young family. Quality player that just made the move to City at the wrong time in his career.
 
Some of you lot really don't have a clue. Or you're just very bitter people. Boateng is class. We don't live in the 70's anymore, central defenders don't have to go smashing into every 50/50. Also, he is far better on the ball than any of our defenders. It's a shame he couldn't settle here but that happens. I'm glad he is doing well and hope he gets to lift the Champions League.

I don't go that far, but that's more to do with the bile, vitriol and oprobrium heaped upon us by Rummenigge, Hoeness and Beckenbauer over the last 12 months.

Cunts.

It's clear he was responsible for Adam Johnson, as Mancini came in.

Again, Boateng's contract situation became apparent at Hamburg and Marwood obviously had an inside track on this and convinced others it was a no-brainer.

Same can be said for the Arsenal signings, Marwood has a network of contacts that bring the current state of play to the board.

Marwood was also part of the trips to scout/talk on Hazard and Herrera.

Maybe a new chief scout/techical director will take over more of this.

I can understand having someone recommend targets but the confusion for me lies in the fact that this person then has the power to sign said players that quite obviously would not be the choice of our manager?
This aspect,IMO,has contributed to some of the negative aspects of the managers tenure,as obviously his job relies heavilly on the players he recruits - it seems a strange scenario.....
 
I thought Benzama ran rings around Boateng and Badstubber but the Madrid midfield wasn't getting the ball to him.

Them two are the weak points in the München side.

I think Drogba or Torres will cause them big problems.


Boateng is the biggest shit hous I've seen in a City defence!
