I can't understand the criticism of Corbyn for saying it would have been better to arrest, try, convict and imprison a terrorist as the criminal he is rather than simply to kill him in combat. Plainly, if possible, it would have been better for his murder of a British citizen to have been punished in an English court. The fact that the better solution is also impractical doesn't mean that the alternative ceases to be less than ideal.

What Corbyn suggested is precisely the way the IRA was dealt with, and it was the correct way. Does Jihadi John's cause or his methods have greater legitimacy than the IRA's?

Has it ever occurred to you that politicians who actually paid some regard to legality and thought about the long term consequences of their aggressive actions might have kept us out of the bullshit wars, based on phoney evidence and questionable legal justifications, that helped cause the radicalisation of people like this and the awful deaths of good people like Alan Henning?

Are we more secure now because of our military actions in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan & Syria? I'd say that, because of those, we live in a state which faces ever greater threats to the safety and security of its citizens and which faces waves of refugees and migrants who are fleeing from the consequences of those actions.

Can't agree with that, clearly its better that we're no longer in conflict with IRA, but many have been pardoned for murder, many never caught, but now free to live a life those they murdered can't, some are now even in government, that's not right either.

Cries of justice for this guy are all fine and well, but he was never going to be brought to justice, and would have carried on doing what he did with impunity, remember it isn't just westerners he's been accused of brutally executing.

I can't say I'll be shedding any tears for him tonight, though the world will be no safer as a result, but at least one murdering tw@t won't be still on it.

Well this news has made my day.

A big step in the right direction imo, IS now know we had pick anyone in their group and take them out. This was a guy glorifying terrible acts against other human beings, innocent human beings. Good riddance, more of the same needed.

Glad that this piece of shit appears to have been sent to meet Allah in person but sad about the way it happened, with an air strike the most he would have known is maybe a second or so before impact if they saw it coming. The poor fuckers who he hacked to death knew what was coming and suffered horrendously. It would be comforting to know that he felt at least some personal terror before his demise.
