Jihadi John Is Dead

I never said he didn't, in fact if you had bothered to read it you would see that I said he did.

That doesn't mean he didn't have rights, merely that through his own actions he made it impossible for the law to protect them.
Well maybe you should of volunteered yourself to pop over and arrest him, I'm glad non of our boys have come to any harm and the geezer's no longer capable of doing any more harm himself

And whilst we wait and bring him to justice he carries on regardless

sorry - not sure where I said we "wait to bring him to justice". Nope - just re-read my post and it really isn't there.

What I am saying is that all actions have consequences and the consequences of this could be counter productive - it also lowers us - the "democratic alliance" to their level - all it will breed is more hostage taking more beheading and more heartbreak. personally I don't know for sure what the answer is but maybe a bit more constructive diplomacy and not having a PM sucking up to various dictators - not selling arms and lending support to one side or the other - all that would be better than an irregular series of haphazard drone strikes?

That's a particularly ridiculous comment.

Where have I said that anybody should have been exposed to risk to protect his rights?

I draw the line when they are beheading people on telly and shooting people into open graves.............that's just me though

Holy fuck what is it that you people don't understand?

EVERYBODY HAS CERTAIN MINIMUM RIGHTS NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO.

That's not my opinion, that's the law (a) of this land, and (b) every other civilised nation on the planet.

Pointing out this obvious fact doesn't in any way condone what this **** did, it's just to point out that our society's consistency about this is in marked contrast with the sort of society IS want to bring about - the sort of society where you don't have rights.

Are some of you who think criminals shouldn't have any rights quite sure which side you are on?
I can see it from both sides, even Herman Goering and Irma Grese got a trial just to show what a civilised society we are but everybody knew that the outcome would be death, this twat would spend his time in a cell watching fucking X factor and no doubt agitating other Islamic prisoners so yes, death by missile was the best option

One of the points that Chris should have made (and I'm surprised he hasn't) is that in our society we judge peoples' guilt following the presentation of evidence in a properly conducted court of law according to well-established principles. We've been told that so-called Jihadi John is someone called Mohammed Emwazi, that this person was allegedly involved in the horrific murder of innocent people and that this person has now been killed. But we don't know for sure and we'll now probably never know for sure. But that's what our media are telling us and, as we all know, they always tell us the unadorned truth. It's possible that the entity we knew as 'Jihadi John' never actually existed, in the same way that Iraq's WMD never actually existed (even though we were assured they did).

We condemn ISIS precisely because they seem willing to murder people on a whim, because they're from the wrong place, follow the wrong version of their religion, are suspected of having a different sexuality or are suspected of being "spies". So why do so many people find it so gratifying when we descend to their level?

Jihadi John (or whatever his unfortunate name is) is made up? Those videos were fake? Not having that....what about the recognisable people murdered in such a gruesome manner?
