Just come onto this thread, and I have to agree with this sentiment. It's not something that has affected my family, and I'm not PC or a soft fucker, but that statement just has no place on Bluemoon.

This is Interesting. There was once a time when Jim davidson was very popular and a regular on television. So a LOT of people must have found him funny/likeable. So what has changed? Have all these people who used to like him, used to laugh at him suddenly turned into racist morons? Or have they had to change their minds because society told them too?

I'd like to add I don't like his style of comedy and have never been a fan. Just asking the awkward question.

Very good point this. Whether you like him or not this style of humour was very popular back then and the 'Likers' have not turned into racist or xenophobic morons, so there seems to be an element of fear of accusations of this behaviour by some. The arrival of mobiles and text messaging has ensured that this kind of humour is very much alive and well and can not be censored, despite the vitriol and condemnation of people who don't subscribe to it.
He was always a bit too cockney for me and does'nt have the self deprecating style of Northern comics, but whatever floats your boat.

Whether or not Davidson is racist is irrelevant.
He simply never was,or ever will be,remotely funny.
Unlike the OP who,albeit unintentionally,is very funny indeed.
In fact,I shall miss him when he is finally sectioned.
