Joe Hart (continued)

Let me get this straight.

According to lots in this thread, Hart being 'taken out of the firing line' would do him the world of good. Now you want his comeback game to be one in which England will get battered off one of the best teams in the world?
Don't care about England, but if it means he can use up one of his mistakes in that shirt and not a City one, then fine by me.

I'm of much the same opinion if pressed, but anything remotely resembling a mistake by Hart in an England game will be pounced on by the scum press and splashed over the front pages as well as the back. Another battering off the media will do nothing for Harts confidence in a City shirt.

Re: joe hart

Germany game will give him an opportunity to shine. He'll be busy

Play well for England, could be the platform to get back in our team. Or maybe Pellegrini will wait until Kompany is back, and they can mutually reinforce each other.

Hart and Kompany returning will be a big moment for the team

his 2 best games for City have been where he's had to make lots of saves.

Therefore Germany is the perfect game for him.

He's not a one season wonder by any stretch.

I agree. I was just citing 11/12 as the most recent season when he was consistently excellent. But some goalkeepers suffer a loss of form and never seem to be the same again. Hopefully that won't be the case with Hart, but the club have to make contingency plans in case he doesn't re-gain form.

I don't look at it as Hart needing competition, or taking out of the firing line. I see it as needing to get his head together and get his confidence back. Unfortunately, it's hard to say what will do that, that's why I said I'm trusting Pellegrini to judge what's best. If Pellegrini is looking to get rid of him though, I can't support that.

But maybe in order to get his head straight he needs to get the drive and ambition which he had earlier in his career back, which could be provided with sterner competition for his place, whether that competition be imagined or real.

So in Pellegrini we trust, because fundamentally we can't really do anything else, can we.

Re: joe hart

Hart has been poor over the last 18 months..

Its probabily more of a motivation thing than anything else, if he wants to be one of the worlds best he has to get his hunger back.

Remember the Spurs game at the start of that season? One of the best keeping performances I've seen.

Just make sure you mute it!

Fuck me we got battered that game. IIRC, we only had one decent chance, which SWP should've buried.
