I thought he should have read Suarez' second corner better after he tried swerving it in the first time.
Joe is a top keeper but he makes some decisions at times which make you scream, "what are you doing".
He definitely needs decent competition next season otherwise he will go backwards in my opinion, Caballero would be my choice but he is a very good goalkeeper and it wouldn't surprise me to see Pellegrini picking him as first choice.
I am not overly convinced Hart will ever produce that form he showed two or three seasons ago and I ask the question, has he peaked too soon?
It's taboo to criticise Joe too much on here, but I pretty much agree. Joe is a very good keeper, but he was close to being a world class keeper a few years ago and all the legendary keepers like Buffon were full of praise for him (now they praise the likes of Courtois and De Gea more). Now he isn't really near world class, which is odd because keepers (like wine) are supposed to improve with age.
He still strikes me as tentative and not confident enough (despite appearances). His shot stopping is still pretty good, like his incredible save against Everton, but he's kind of flaky. Also too hesitant with his distribution, often taking too long when the very best are quick and confident with their distribution which can often lead to a breakaway. He's by far the best English goalkeeper, but I don't think he ranks among the best in the world.
And yes, as I've been saying in the transfer forum, I really hope we get a strong challenger for him, thereby not only keeping him on his toes and motivated to improve, but to have someone good to step in if Joe does lose form again (which cannot be ruled out after last season). Caballero or K. Navas would be perfect (Ochoa looks good too but unlike the aforementioned, I haven't seen much of him for his club so have no idea how good he really is), but if we can't fit in another foreigner then its a problem because I'm not sure any British/homegrown goalkeeper is good enough to push him (maybe Cardiff's).
I think his nationality helps him a lot. If he was Spanish or Argentine, his position would be under more scrutiny, but the homegrown rule makes that unthinkable. So we at least need a quality #2.
