Joe Hart (continued)

It was only a friendly, some people need to chill out. He played well against Liverpool also.

Joe's always been one to rush out when it's not needed. A perfect example is the L'pool game at Anfield last season with Sterling's goal. The competition he now has in Willy though will fire him up and I can't see him making too many mistakes this season coming.

I'm sure the club would rather see Joe Hart win out this season's competition with new-boy Willy, and so would I, but I just don't see it happening.

He has terrible judgement when operating as a sweeper and that's not exactly an easy fix, especially if it's down to more than just a confidence problem.

IMO, Willy will be the one we call on in the biggest of matches this season. Might take a month or two to happen, but I see it as inevitable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no anti-Joe Hart guy either, I think he's WC - just yet to be convinced of his ability to adapt to a new system that demands so much more than what he's grown used to... As far as a shot-stopper, he's as good as they come, but does he have the mental capacity to also play as the last defender?

I mean look at how quick Neuer has adapted to Pep's system at Bayern - I'm sure we all had to a chance to witness his effectiveness in brazil... what's Joe Hart's honest excuse for still being so far off it?

Neuer is the best in the world for me but he makes mistakes too, same as Willy, same as Joe and all the rest! What people fail to recognise how many mistakes are made outfield before the ball gets near the keeper.

This. A lot of folks are mired in sentimentality because he's English and 'our Joe'. Someone said it's only a freindly - well, aren't they the easiest ones to get right, with less pressure?

Everyone makes the odd howler every few years. Hart's are every couple of games - and you never really know where the 'distribution' will end up. Cant see past Calallero as our number one if we want to win things.

Last seasons episode with Joe/Pants just proved to me that the manager knows best and we just have to trust his judgement. We now have a better backup keeper in Willy to keep Joe on his toes and I hope to see them both thrive as a result of the increased competition.

Any clangers like Chelsea away last season and Joe will be out of the team quicker than you can say Jack Robinson. Its great to have a manager who isnt afraid to make the tough decisions, this season is going to be great. Bring it on.

Lets see how he is when he has a proper defence in front of him again,he had a great 2nd half of the season

Agree, when Pellers started last season he undone some of the defensive work Mancini had put in & left Joe & the back four exposed. After losing 4 times in the first 3 months he cottoned on & sorted it out resulting in only 2 other defeats all season (in the league)

Lets sell if Pellers gets his balls in the bath & plays Lamps against Chelsea, now there's a tough decision lol
