Joe Hart - First Goal ???

Wouldn't just worry about the second goal, we should worry about the poor
Defending in general. Joe made far too many saves last night against a
Poor team. Which doesn't say much about the defending. Someone
Should ask Pablo what he was doing for the first goal. He didn't know whether
To go and pick up whickham or hope and catch him off side. He did the
Later and it cost a goal.

After a really good 4 or 5 months he has made two pretty horrendous errors these past two games and he's had a pretty big hand in most of our defeats this season. I'm a big fan of Hart, and I've defended him for a long time but I'm starting to feel like we need an upgrade, or at the very least someone who might push him harder. I wonder if we're in for Iker.

Joe's big advantage is being home grown - it will create further problems elsewhere in the squad if we sign a foreign keeper (I guess we could switch it and keep Joe and replace Pants with another overseas player and have two keepers genuinely fight it out for number one) . I not advocating that Joe should go but the save to his left is becoming an issue - , he used to push the ball out rather than to the side but he seems to have addressed that but his biggest weakness remains his distribution - not just his kicking (which at times is very poor) his throwing is laboured, inaccurate and very slow - rather than see an opportunity to throw it out and get us moving quickly he takes so long to get himself into position to throw that the whole stadium knows where he trying to throw it - his only upside is he rarely throws (or kicks) it where he intends to so he does keep some element of surprise. If you watch him he seems incredibly indecisive when he needs to move the ball quickly. Joe needs to get his feet firmly back on the ground, accept how much he needs to learn and improve, stop hanging around with Rooney et al, give the TV ads a break and then maybe just maybe he might develop into a good keeper - but he must address the 3 or 4 major recurring errors in his game.

I do like joe, but he does let far too many goals in. His positioning for starlings goal was poor, and also for wickhams second. If he is to be replaced begovic would be my choice, only 26 so should get 10 years of him

We need upgrade on him, but dont how we will do it as as many other English players will leave anyway. Home grown qouta fucking us this time really.

We cant sell Lescott, richards, Sinclair, Barry, Rodwell, Hart, Boyata, without getting in at least 4-5 English or home grown players.
The ones could come, Barkley, Shaw, already being sold in the media for 25-35m pounds. For us they would be closer to 35m for sure.

Has begovic been in uk long enough to be considered a Brit?

No, but I think it depends on if you spent 3 years at an English club before you became a regular or something like this.

Clichy is home grown because he was at Arsenal for 3 years before he became 18. He signed for them as a 16 yeard old player.

Begovic already in his 4th or 5th season at Stoke but that wont make is homegrown. Or Nasri he is at England since 2008. Wont be homegrown from that.

Either to be English or spent 3 years at English club as a foreigner before 18. It seriously will make our transfer job harder this summer given how many home grown players looking to leave. It can mean that we keep some of them for this reason even if the manager doesnt fancy them or would bring in a better player.

He has been in England much longer than stoke son, well travelled actually

Checked in on wiki, yeah actually now he seems like spent those years in question at an English club. Even if he had some trouble around not having visa to play for some time.

Well could be an option then. Unless Pelle/Tyiki goes for a Spanish keeper his former Malaga keeper, or Casillas maybe.
