Pep will of known the 'variables' of that changing room before rocking up... His obsessive compulsive nature will of left no stone unturned and that goes for influence from certain players.. 3 notable absences yesterday weren't exactly a surprise!!

I don't disagree he'll have done his homework, but there's a paradox in all of that.
If he gives 100% to whichever club he's at, then he can't be spending time looking at his next club. If he WAS doing a lot of background work with City, then he was taking his eye off the ball with Bayern.

Even if he did absolutely zero background work (which is unimaginable), I'm sure on day one at City he'll have chatted with Txiki and co and got a feel for the dressing room politics, then within a couple of weeks of spending time with the lads, he'll have spotted any cliques / attitude issues. He'll have also worked out who responds to a kick up the arse, and who responds to an arm around the shoulder. Joe could well be a kick up the arse candidate!

But again, apparently replacing Hart is for the sake of progression.

So unless there was an internal protest to save Hart alone, what prevented him from being sold?

Perhaps back then a perceived weakness in his game was spotted and for the sake of progressing as a club, in a new style, a replacement was sought after. Or did the manager just want rid for poops and giggles?

You're applying a situation and ignoring what the managers whole philosophy is about, there are shortcomings in joes game that have been masked by a style/preference of play. However, he also thinks he's better than he is (imo)... There's only one winner here!!

It's nothing to do with a kick up the arse, all to do with capabilities and reinforcing the philosophy, every man is equal in a pep team, leave the advice to those who coach and listen to instruction.... Simples

Spot on,but I hope hart can take it on board and can convince pep he's the right man for the job..
Folowing his instructions in the 45 minutes he played against Arsenal might have helped convince Pep of that but he didn't did he? So he's either completely brainless (which I've long suspected) or was sticking two fingers up to his manager. Neither are really going to get him a long way.

the point i'm making is its quite clear someone is leaking info from whats going on inside the club, there were to many reports of hart being dropped from to many journo's for there not to be, have you read all the thread or just jumped on the back of it

You may be right, but equally, it could have just been a speculative tweet and they rode their luck and announced it. It was your Page 3 thingy that through me.

Personally I think Pep decided he was going to replace Hart before he came to the club, when he was watching at Bayern and at the Euros. I think Hart is a better Keeper than Willy, but Pep is sending a clear signal to everyone that he is looking for a new goalkeeper to be his number one.
