If Pep plays Hart & Hart embarrasses himself with some shitty, nervous distribution & decision-making, Im sure we will hv a few "passionate" city fans & media rags screaming "Pep intentionally humiliated Hart"

This is a battle pep can never win. But I trust Pep's decision-making more than Hart's tbh!
I think Pep has won his battle to be honest.

A couple of times he had the ball at his feet, under no pressure, with defenders available, but hoofed it up field. They did seem like small acts of defiance.

Exactly what i thought at the time.

I was out of the country over this whole period. What did Hart do??

I re-watched the Arsenal v. City game and have changed my mind about "insubordination." See edited quote below.

So insubordination in front of the watching public in a televised game for 45 min is OK?

Edit - I've re-watched the 2nd half of Arsenal v. City friendly.

Hart's distribution was as follows:
Thrown short: 3
Kicked short: 4
Goal kick short: 1
Kicked long: 3

For the long kicks, Hart had an easy pass short but kicked long anyways on two occasions. For the remaining long kick, Hart had time on the ball and could have waited for passing lanes to open but quickly kicked it long without waiting.

3 goals were scored by Arsenal while Hart was in.
1st goal, down to Hart's left. Probably Hart should have done better.
2nd goal, scoop over Hart - not Hart's fault.
3rd goal, Hart comes out, slides in, momentarily collects the ball and then fumbles it. Clear error.
======
So after re-watching this display, I'm going to say it wasn't insubordination.

Yet, there is a clear lack of confidence/desire/whatever on Hart's part to play it short whenever possible.

And Hart had a terrible game in goal, with 1-1/2 errors.

On the basis of Hart's display versus Willy's, it's clear that Willy deserved the start in our first game, and WIlly hasn't done anything poorly enough since to cede the starting role to a comparable keeper.

If you're interested in watching this game, you can see it online here.

Same. I'm surprised at the level of support the decision has received from all corners. Exactly what I hoped we were getting with Pep too tbh. Not getting rid of Hart specifically, but having enough gravitas to do it and not get a backlash. Quite clever to get it over with early doors so all the parallels can be drawn with his early Barca days too - Not a lot of people fancying to argue otherwise with that one either!

Anyone thinking that Joe is leaving based on 45 mins of football alone is in crazy world.
I'm not claiming this.

However, I think that Willy is our number one largely because of those 45 min. And Hart not being our number one has led to where we currently are.

Willy is our number 2 that's why we are signing a number 1 . Pep never fancied joe as number 1 , joe did not fancy being a number 2 hence he is going.

So willy is doing his job as number 2 until bravo comes in. As soon as he does order will be restored with a number 1 in goal and willy providing back up.

Joe will leave and the sooner this side show distraction is over the better.

I still think Cheeseman more or less hit the nail on the head whatever Pep may say in public.

I've not been keeping up with current events, what did he say?
That it's Joe's attitude as opposed to his ability that Pep hasn't been happy with.

Cheesy is as close to being IN as journos get at City and he wouldn't have reported as such if it wasn't true as he'd be biting the hand that feeds him.

You're being pedantic (and inaccurate as well) - Willy is our number 1 until a suitable replacement (Bravo) is signed.

Same thing really. Willy never gets enough credit for his goal keeping ability and playing under the shadow of hart. He has done really well these 3 games to concentrate as he knows there are fair few media pundits and unfortunately blues who would love to jump on him if he made a mistake.

Willy has always been professional whilst with city and never gets enough credit.

After Hart was dropped who knows what happened? Cheeseman might well be right here (I tend to think he is). But Hart could simply be looking after his own future, wanting to start at a big club in order to hold down his England number 1.

+1
Willy has done very well in his three starts. Willy is clearly not yet entirely comfortable with the ball at his feet but has played in the style that Pep wants and hasn't made any huge errors leading to goals.
